Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis Position reports to:\nEngineering ManagerYour role and responsibilities:\nThe primary focus of this role will be to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments classified as HV system engineering complexity (66kV to 400kV). Ensures that the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner, in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.\nThe work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid\nThis role is contributing to Process Automation business for Operation Centers and Quality division based in Bangalore / Chennai, India.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform basic and detail engineering activities and provide optimized solutions for High Voltage electrical system in industrial projects specifically Offshore wind farm, Onshore Power from Shore and Battery energy storage system (BESS).\nPreparation Key SLD, Protection single line diagram, equipment arrangement plan and section.\nDesign calculations for equipment sizing, earthing calculation, cable sizing, cable tray sizing, lighting calculation, lightning calculation\nLayout engineering for equipment arrangement, cabling, earthing, lighting and lightning protections.\nPrepare equipment datasheet, specifications, technical bid evaluation, manufacturer documents review and approval for all equipment used in below HV system:Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) from 66kV and up to 400 kV\nAir Insulated Switchgear (AIS) from 66kV and up to 400 kV\nPower Transformers\nShunt Reactors\nAssociated control, metering & protection panels in scope\n\nPrepare equipment BOM, cable schedule, Interconnection diagram and termination schedule for complete HV system\nCoordinate with substation automation system / SCADA system for interface engineering activities, Coordination with civil, structural, supply chain, commercial, project management, and manufacturing, testing and site execution teams. Estimate effort for engineering, testing and commissioning\nPrepare Engineering Schedule in line with agreed document deliverable list, matching engineering portion of project schedule.\nTravelling to customer and vendor locations to support engineering, manufacturing and FAT activities.\nQualifications for the role:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.\nMinimum 10 to 15 years of relevant experience for Project Engineering\nWorked as Project Engineer in at least 4 to 6 large size projects in HV system.\n Onshore/Offshore -substation experience will be preferred. Minimum 1 to 2 years experince on site execution is preferred.\nPre-Bid Engineering, Bid & Proposal exposure is an added advantage.\nProficiency in using design tools like relay selections, equipment sizing, earthing, lighting calculation tools etc.,\nBasic Knowledge of power system study and network modelling preferred\nBasic knowledge on communication archtecture, IEC 61850, relay selections (ABB/Hitachi/GE/SEL) is preferred.\nUnderstanding the various International Standard/ statutory requirements like IEEE/IEC/ANSI\nMore about us\nABB a provides a comprehensive range of integrated automation, electrical and digital systems and services for customers in the process, hybrid and maritime industries.
