Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nService Team Leader__\nKey responsibilities\nIn this position, you will develop innovative software solutions in the MES domain and significantly drive the technical evolution of our products. As an experienced software developer, you will design architectures, implement complex functionalities, and ensure the highest software quality through clean code and modern development practices.\nIn addition to software development, you will assume technical leadership in MES projects, coordinate development teams, and take responsibility for the successful delivery of technical solutions.\nYou will contribute to the Energy Industries Division within the Automation business area in Mannheim.\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nEnd-to-end development and configuration of MES solutions using C++, C#, TypeScript, and React across the entire lifecycle - from requirements analysis and architecture through implementation to commissioning.\n\nDesign and implementation of scalable and maintainable software architectures applying Clean Architecture principles and established best practices.\n\nFull-stack development of backend services, database solutions based on SQL Server and Entity Framework, as well as modern, high-performance frontend applications.\n\nImplementation of DevOps and quality assurance measures by establishing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, automated testing, code reviews, and compliance with cybersecurity standards.\n\nAssumption of technical project responsibility through the management of development packages, well-founded architectural decisions, and technical coordination within interdisciplinary project teams.\n\nConducting and facilitating technical workshops with customers and project teams to analyze complex requirements and develop viable solution approaches.\n\nTechnical consultation for customers in the selection, customization, configuration, and integration of customer-specific solutions into existing MES systems.\n\nDevelopment of sustainable solutions with the right balance between innovation, standardization, and reusability.\n\nPurposeful use of modern AI-powered tools to enhance quality and efficiency, including critical evaluation of results and autonomous decision-making.\n\nJoin a team developing cutting-edge MES software solutions using the latest technologies and agile methods. You will work on technically challenging projects, apply innovative technologies, and actively shape the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry.\nQualifications for the role\nSeveral years of experience in professional software development and/or software engineering with demonstrable project successes.\n\nA degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable engineering discipline is an advantage but not a prerequisite, provided relevant professional experience is in place.\n\nExcellent programming skills in C++ and C#, along with solid experience in object-oriented software development.\n\nExperience in the technical delivery of complex MES projects and in collaboration with customers and interdisciplinary teams.\n\nExpertise in TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (React or comparable).\n\nPractical experience with Azure DevOps, Entity Framework, SQL Server, Node-RED, and Clean Architecture.\n\nSound knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and clean code principles.\n\nBroad technical understanding, strong analytical skills, and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new technologies, processes, and complex domain-specific contexts.\n\nStructured working approach and experience in planning, technical documentation, and sustainable solution development.\n\nStrong communication and facilitation skills, along with experience in conducting technical workshops.\n\nFluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.\n\nTeam-oriented mindset, personal accountability, and a passion for collaboratively analyzing complex technical and domain challenges and delivering sustainable solutions.\n\nBenefits\nCompany pension scheme\n\nEmployee Assistance Program\n\nABB Employee Share Acquisition Plan (ESAP)\n\nFlexible working hours\n\nInterested?
