Join ABB as Site & Facilities Maintenance Manager and you will have the opportunity to shape and influence the Facility Management model, driving alignment with market best practices and setting the standard for operational excellence. You will take ownership of a broad and dynamic portfolio; overseeing operating expenditure across repair and maintenance, cleaning, security, utilities, energy costs, and common area management - ensuring the site runs safely, efficiently, and sustainably. Through your expertise in building services, you will lead and elevate both soft and hard service operations, making a tangible difference to the people, infrastructure, and performance of our Napier facility.\nWork model: onsite #LI-Onsite\nLeading the planning and implementation of maintenance, testing, and inspection schedules to ensure the facility team operates in a safe and efficient manner, prolonging equipment lifespan, mitigating the risk of failures, and fulfilling statutory obligations.\nEnsuring all fire safety equipment and systems undergo proper maintenance, inspection, and testing and overseeing accurate record-keeping of these activities.\nManaging and monitoring common areas, including parking and green areas, to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and adherence to established guidelines and standards.\nAssessing buildings and recommending actions for improvement in line with ABB's Green Real Estate approach.\nOur Team Dynamics\nOur teams support each other, collaborate, and never stop learning. Being part of our team means your work matters - because the progress we make here creates real impact out there.\nQualifications for the Role\nYou are highly skilled in facilities management, encompassing both hard and soft services, with demonstrated experience managing building operations, maintenance programmes, and service contractor relationships in a complex industrial or commercial environment.\n5+ years of experience in a facilities, building, or property management role, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial, or technology-focused site environment.\nKnowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, and a proven ability to implement and maintain robust HSE practices across a site.\nMindset to innovate around sustainability and energy efficiency, with experience conducting energy assessments, identifying cost-saving initiatives, and supporting green building strategies.\nQualification in Facilities Management, Engineering, Property Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated industry experience in a comparable role.\nAn electrical trade qualification, electrical engineering qualification, or equivalent electrical services background, with a strong understanding of building services infrastructure and statutory compliance requirements.\nYou are at ease communicating in English, with strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, contractors, and senior leadership.\nYou hold, or are eligible to obtain, relevant trade or facilities management certifications applicable in New Zealand, such as a recognised building warrant of fitness (BWoF) management background or equivalent statutory compliance experience.\nMore about us\nIn ABB's critical power business division, our customers require reliable and efficient power that supports their growing infrastructure, ensuring that data flows 24x7, while optimizing their footprint, energy costs and operations.
