Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis Position reports to:\nR & D Hub Manager, IndiaYour role and responsibilities\nIn this role, you will be responsible for leading and coaching the R&D & Engineering team while also acting as the process developer and process owner. You will lead team who maintains and develops existing and new products and technologies in R&D & Engineering department. Your task is to secure electrical & mechanical design capacity and competence for efficient, timely and qualitative projects, post order and task execution. You will also have a great opportunity to further your career in a global company with broad range of opportunities.\nThe work model for the role is: #LI_Onsite\nThis role is contributing to the Motion business based at Faridabad, India:\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nTeam Leadership: Lead the R&D & Engineering team, ensuring capacity, competence, and motivation for efficient and high-quality execution of projects and tasks.\n\nProcess Ownership: Own and continuously improve the R&D & Engineering design processes, tools, and methodologies to support product development and lifecycle management.\n\nCompetence Development: Secure people allocation and development using internal and external experts to meet current and future needs.\n\nTool Development: Ensure high-quality usage and development of electrical design tools and software together with engineering tools team.\n\nCross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other R&D locations, operations, and stakeholders to align design and process strategies.\n\nMarket Intelligence: Collect and analyse market information and process data to inform design and process improvements.\n\nDocumentation & Standards: Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations.\n\nQualifications for the role\nB.E. or B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field with 7+ to years’ experience.\n\nSeveral years of experience in electrical / mechanical design and process development.\n\nA proactive, systematic, and collaborative approach to work. Proven leadership and coaching skills.\n\nContinuous improvement mindset combined with Lean and Agile way of working.\n\nExperience with insulation systems, magnetic materials, and motor technologies is a plus.\n\nFamiliarity with engineering tools such as Teamcenter, SAP, CAD, and motor design platforms.\n\nFluent in English, Other languages are appreciated.\n\nMore about us\nABB Motion provides pioneering technology, products, solutions and related services to industrial customers to increase energy efficiency, improve safety and reliability, and maintain precise control over processes.
