In this position, you will combine your expertise in embedded electronics and software with a strong product mindset, ensuring products continue to meet customer needs, quality standards, and future business requirements.\nYou will work across multiple disciplines and collaborate closely with R&D teams, product management, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers. Success in this role requires a broad technical foundation, curiosity, and the ability to connect expertise from different domains to drive effective solutions and informed technical decisions.\nYour main responsibilities\nTake technical ownership of products throughout their lifecycle, from development and release to maintenance and continuous improvement.\nWork across embedded electronics and software disciplines, understanding the interaction between hardware, firmware, software, and overall system functionality.\nTranslate customer and product requirements into technical specifications, priorities, and development activities.\nCollaborate closely with developers, system architects, product managers, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders to drive product success.\nLead investigations of complex technical product issues together with subject matter experts and development teams.\nSupport customers and internal stakeholders with technical guidance and product-related expertise.\nContribute to technical decisions, product enhancements, quality initiatives, and long-term product roadmaps.\nIdentify technical risks, opportunities for improvement, and relevant emerging technologies that can strengthen ABB's product offering.\nQualifications for the role\nB.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\nExtensive experience in embedded product development, preferably 10 years or more.\nSolid technical expertise in both embedded electronics and embedded software.\nBroad understanding of electronics design, firmware/software development, interfaces, verification, and product lifecycle management.\nExperience working with technically advanced products in an industrial or manufacturing environment.\nExperience in technical product ownership, systems engineering, technical leadership, or similar cross-functional roles is highly valued.\nAbility to navigate seamlessly between detailed technical challenges, system-level architecture discussions, and long-term product strategy.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a structured and pragmatic approach.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and organizational boundaries.\nFluency in written and spoken English.\nMore about us\nYou will be part of Process Control Platform (PCP) which is a unit within ABB Business Area Process Automation.
