Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nELDS NAM Grid Components Proposals Leader__\nYour role and responsibilities\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to create and complete bids/estimations/quotations based on customer specification or customer requirements/budget in order to achieve both market competitiveness and the expected margin level for the Company. Each day, you will maintain and improve the balance between all ABB units and customers that are present in the area of responsibility. You will also showcase your expertise by formulating competitive bids, estimates, and quotations with the best product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations, ensuring timely, detailed proposals that include full and accurate costs.\n\n The work model for the role is: #LI-remote\nThis role is contributing to the ELDS Grid Components division in North America.\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nReview and evaluate project specifications and end-user customer requirements to provide electrical solutions including one-line electrical diagrams, schematic diagrams, lay-out & equipment drawings, equipment specifications and project budget pricing for Low and medium voltage applications. \nUnderstands protection and control relays and digital solutions across medium-voltage opportunities through application engineering and opportunity development in collaboration with the local sales team .\nFormulates competitive bids, estimates, and quotations by considering the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial aspects for each situation. \nCreates well-documented tenders in a timely manner and with an appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs. \nManages the preparation of technical, financial, and, if required, project management aspects of the bid, estimate, and quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions. \nIdentifies potential risks in the bids, quotations, estimates, and related contract agreements across customers/channels. \nProvides information and/or participates in the risk review process in accordance with ABB policy. \nResponsible for collecting and collating the information required to prepare the proposal, including both technical and cost elements. \nEstablishes and maintains effective customer relationships to gain a deep understanding of customer needs and ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process. \nProvides technical support to Sales Managers during technical meetings with customers. \nQualifications for the role\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineer. \n3 plus years of experience in Electrical Industry. \nKnowledge or experience with SEL Relays and other Digital Relay Protection systems is required. \nKnowledge in medium voltage equipment such as breakers, current transformers, relays etc. \nPrevious proposal generation or requisition engineering activities preferred. \nExceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills. \nProficient with proposal development tools including, but not limited to: SFDC, Empower, Word/Excel, PDF. \nGood communication, negotiation, autonomous, dynamic; conflict resolution. \nPossess a strong blend of power systems design and communication skills.
