We are seeking a Technical Solutions Lead in Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to support the growth and execution of automation and digital transformation projects in the U.S. Life Sciences market.\nYou will serve as the technical authority and thought leader for Life Sciences automation projects, bringing deep domain expertise in process control, regulatory compliance, and digital manufacturing to support ABB’s role as a Main Automation Contractor (MAC) and digital transformation partner.\nThis role is contributing to the AUEN division in the US. The work model for the role is hybrid.\nResponsibilities:\nAct as ABB’s lead technical expert for DCS solutions in the Life Sciences sector and provide technical sales support and domain-specific guidance to business development and proposal teams.\n\nEnsure technical excellence and customer satisfaction, contributing to the growth and competitiveness of the Life Sciences Automation segment.\n\nCollaborate with strategic customers to develop automation strategies and roadmaps aligned with industry trends and regulatory requirements.\n\nLead or support design reviews, functional specifications, and validation documentation in compliance with FDA, EMA, and cGMP regulations.\n\nLead technical presentations and solution workshops/lunch and learns with executive stakeholders to influence buying decisions and build trust.\n\nPartner with product management and R&D to influence development of Life Sciences-focused features and digital capabilities.\n\n Qualifications for the role:\nBachelor’s in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical), or Biomedical Science; MSc preferred.\n\n15 + years in Pharma/Biotech automation, or EPC project business with ≥ 5 years P&L or segment leadership.\n\nExtensive automation/domain knowhow in long-cycle, largescale life sciences projects with proven oversight of substantial execution backlogs and value creation track record .\n\nExperience with ABB’s DCS is a plus-experience with other DCS products (Emerson, Siemens) and PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) is also beneficial.\n\nDeep expertise in cGMP, FDA/EMA, GAMP 5, Data Integrity, ISA95, ISA88.\n\nStrong knowledge of ISA-88 / S88 batch architecture and recipe configuration.\n\nWe empower you to take the lead, share bold ideas, and shape real outcomes.
