Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nPlant Manager__\nThe work model for the role is: Onsite #LI-Onsite\nYour role and responsibilities:\nThe Training Manager for the Fort Smith Motor Plant is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive training and organizational development strategies to ensure operational excellence, safety compliance, and workforce competency. This strategic leadership role involves directing training initiatives across all departments, collaborating with plant leadership and corporate training functions, and driving continuous improvement in employee skills, safety culture, and business performance. Being part of our team means your work matters - because the progress we make here creates real impact out there.\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nDevelop and execute the plant training strategy, aligning workforce capability, leadership development, safety, and compliance programs with business objectives, operational needs, and organizational growth plans.\nLead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs, curricula, competency frameworks, and learning systems to build technical expertise, leadership capability, and workforce readiness.\nManage the training function and team, including resource planning, performance management, succession development, training analytics, and measurement of program effectiveness and return on investment.\nChampion a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence by ensuring regulatory adherence, driving workforce development initiatives, and leveraging training to support continuous improvement, productivity, and employee engagement.\nQualifications for the role:\nBachelor’s degree with minimum 2 years of experience OR Associate’s degree with minimum 4 years of experience OR High School Diploma with minimum 6 years of experience.\n5+ years of training and development experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role within a manufacturing, industrial, or operations environment.\nProven success designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that improve workforce capability, safety performance, compliance, and business results.\nStrong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, learning management systems (LMS), training technologies, and virtual/hybrid learning delivery.\nDemonstrated expertise in OSHA and regulatory compliance, safety training, workforce development, continuous improvement methodologies, and training effectiveness measurement.\nExceptional leadership, communication, project management, and analytical skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and develop high-performing teams.\nCandidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.\nMore about us:\nABB’s NEMA Motors Division is the global leading electric NEMA motors manufacturer.
