Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nProduction Supervisor - 2nd Shift__\nPosition Summary:\nThe Braze Operator is responsible for performing torch brazing operations to solder lead wire connections on motor stators while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards. This role supports the Winding Department by ensuring electrical connections are properly brazed, inspected, and processed according to standard work instructions and customer requirements.\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n1. Torch Brazing Operations\n· Perform torch brazing of lead wire connections on motor stators.\n· Follow electrical connection diagrams and standard work instructions to ensure proper connections.\n· Apply brazing material to create strong, smooth, and reliable electrical joints.\n· Maintain production flow while meeting quality and productivity expectations.\n· Adjust torch settings (fuel and oxygen flow) to create and maintain a neutral flame - the proper flame condition for brazing operations.\n· Properly heat the joint by positioning the flame to warm the base metal and filler rod evenly before applying brazing material.\n2. Quality Control & Inspection\n· Inspect brazed connections for proper appearance, strength, and conformity to specifications.\n· Verify connections are free from burrs, holes, fly wires, cold joints, or other defects.\n· Identify, contain, and report nonconforming material requiring rework or rejection.\n· Utilize visual inspections and quality standards to ensure product compliance.\n3. Equipment Operation & Maintenance\n· Set up and operate brazing equipment and associated tools safely and efficiently.\n· Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.\n· Replace worn tips, consumables, and tooling as required.\n· Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate concerns when necessary.\n4. Process Compliance & Documentation\n· Review production schedules, special instructions, and quality alerts before beginning work.\n· Follow all critical process parameters and customer-specific requirements.\n· Maintain production records, lot traceability, and required documentation.\n· Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, and efficiency.\n5. Safety & Material Handling\n· Follow all plant safety procedures and safe work practices.\n· Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, safety shoes, brazing gloves, Kevlar sleeves, and Shade 3 lenses.\n· Safely move materials and stators using approved equipment and hoists when required.\n· Maintain a clean and organized work area.\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent\nMinimum 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience or equivalent military service preferred.\nVocational/technical high school or technical college coursework may be considered in lieu of industrial experience\nPrevious electrical motor manufacturing experience preferred\nCandidates must have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the United States\n\nKnowledge and Skills:\nAbility to read and follow standard work instructions, production requirements, and shop floor communications.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nAbility to perform visual inspections and use gauges or reference fixtures.\nMechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.\nAbility to work independently and effectively within a team environment.\nWilling and able to work any shift.\nundefinedPhysical Requirements: undefinedAbility to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements.Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.Ability to wear required PPE.Ability to operate machinery and related equipment for extended periods.Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, temperature variation, and moving equipmentundefined \nBuilding a cleaner, smarter future takes all kinds of minds: the curious, the courageous, and the creative.
