Our 115,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries.JOB DESCRIPTION:\nPosition Overview\nThe Clinical Laboratory Trainer-Histology prepares and facilitates training for new hire and existing employee training in the clinical laboratory, with guided direction from operational and training leadership. This role supports the histology department through subject matter and training expertise to ensure all team members are trained properly and competencies are successfully met and documented.\nEssential Duties\nInclude, but are not limited to, the following:\nProvide and document new hire training in the department in compliance with regulatory guidelines.\nProvide and document, in compliance with regulatory guidelines, ongoing in-person and virtual training to lab employees, including:\nRetraining for errors/corrective actions.\nTraining to support promotions or additional responsibilities.\nTraining new processes or process improvements, including automation.\nTraining new information from the technical transfer group.\nCreate training materials to support training activities. \nPerform and document direct observations.\nSchedule, communicate, and coordinate training sessions and learner completions. \nAssist in the development and administration of learning exams and/or competency evaluations. \nMaintain accurate records of training in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. \nProvide training expertise to the lab teams using these skills and abilities:\nAbility to effectively transfer knowledge.\nAssess learners’ needs and adjust training plan and delivery accordingly.\nEvaluate learning.\nMaintain competency in the assigned areas and provide laboratory assistance as needed.\nOther duties as assigned.\nUphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.\nSupport and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.\nMaintain regular and reliable attendance.\nAbility to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.\nScheduling requirements:\nAbility to work a designated schedule.\nAbility to work nights and/or weekends, as needed.\nAbility to work overtime, as needed.\nPhysical requirements:\nAbility to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 75% of a typical working day.\nAbility to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.\nAbility to use a telephone through a headset.\nAbility to lift up to 30 pounds for approximately 20% of a typical working day.\nAbility to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.\nAbility to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.\nAbility to use various types of laboratory equipment; including microscopes, microtomes, blades, strainers, and pipettes for extended periods of time.\nMay perform repetitious actions using lab tools.\nAbility to use near vision to view samples at close range.\nMay be exposed to hazardous materials, tissue specimens, and instruments with moving parts, lasers, heating and freezing elements, and high-speed centrifugation.\nAbility to work 100% of the time onsite at assigned laboratory location.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree or Associate’s Degree in a Chemical, Physical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology from an accredited institution. \n1+ years of experience providing instructor led in-person and/or virtual training, either in a laboratory or other setting. \n2+ years of laboratory experience with a strong understanding of working in a laboratory or similar environment with professional working knowledge of HIPAA, GLP, GDP, and laboratory terminology and equipment, including at least one year of histology experience. \nStrong computer skills including Internet navigation, use of virtual meeting tools and platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, email usage, word processing, and data/records management. \nDemonstrated ability to perform Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation. \nApplicants must be currently authorized to work in country where work will be performed on a full or part-time basis. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time.\nPreferred Qualifications \n1+ year experience in a mentorship role or directly/indirectly leading others. \nExperience with a laboratory information management (LIM) or LIS software. \nExperience working in a molecular laboratory. \nExperience in Next Generation Sequencing.\nPossession of and ability to maintain ASCP Certification or state licensure that has been determined to be equivalent.\nThe base pay for this position is\n$22.45 -
