We are looking for an Engineering Unit Lead to take ownership of a portfolio of capital projects and drive technical investments from concept through implementation. This position is responsible for leading engineering projects, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and on time.\nLocation: Weesp, The Netherlands\nAbout the role\nAs an Engineering Unit Lead, you will act as the primary engineering partner for an assigned production area. You will be responsible for managing the project portfolio within your area, ensuring that both ongoing and future projects are prioritized, planned, and successfully executed. You will oversee projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from early concept and feasibility studies through design, construction, commissioning, qualification, and handover.\nWorking closely with Production, Quality, EHS, Procurement, Maintenance, and external contractors, you will play a key role in supporting site growth and continuous improvement initiatives.\nKey responsibilities\nOwn and manage a portfolio of engineering and capital projects within your assigned area.\nLead projects from concept development through implementation and handover.\nDrive project planning, budgeting, risk management, and execution.\nCoordinate contractors, engineering partners, and internal stakeholders.\nEnsure compliance with GMP requirements, site standards, and engineering procedures.\nSupport commissioning, qualification, and operational readiness activities.\nAct as the key engineering contact for your production area and align project priorities with business needs.\nWhat we're looking for\nWe are looking for a technically strong project manager who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can balance multiple projects simultaneously.\nYou will ideally bring:\nA Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.\nExperience leading engineering, capital investment, or technical projects.\nExperience from the pharmaceutical industry or another GMP-regulated environment.\nKnowledge of project management principles and project lifecycle execution.\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills.\nThe ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a complex environment.\nA proactive and solution-oriented mindset with a strong focus on ownership and execution.\nFluency in English, both written and spoken.\nWhy join us?\nThis is an opportunity to take ownership of a significant portfolio of engineering projects that directly impact manufacturing performance, operational excellence, and future site development.
