This role plays a key part in driving a strong culture of Quality and Compliance across Abbott IT, ensuring inspection readiness and providing visibility into quality performance metrics and action plans across enterprise platforms, including SAP-based systems supporting GxP and business-critical processes.\nYou will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to define and execute quality and compliance strategies aligned with business objectives, while supporting global quality initiatives within a regulated and GxP environment.\nWhat You’ll Do\nManage and oversee the IT Validation Quality Management System, including processes, controls, and continuous improvement efforts.\n\nOversee quality, validation, and compliance activities for SAP systems (e.g., ECC, S/4HANA, SAP MDG) in regulated environments.\n\nEnsure SAP changes follow validated SDLC, change control, and release management processes.\n\nPartner with SAP delivery, Basis, and functional teams to ensure quality-by-design across SAP implementations and upgrades.\n\nLead Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Operations and support GxP inspection readiness activities.\n\nDrive and promote a sustained culture of quality and compliance across the IT organization.\n\nProvide management visibility through quality system metrics, performance monitoring, and reporting.\n\nManage daily operations, capacity, and demand for IT Quality and Compliance functions.\n\nLead and manage SQA operational staff, including work assignment, performance monitoring, and service provider oversight.\n\nPartner with divisional and corporate stakeholders to align and standardize quality and compliance best practices.\n\nAssess quality and compliance processes and deliver training and education to IT and business teams as needed.\n\nLead and contribute to IT quality strategy, vision, and improvement initiatives in collaboration with internal and external partners.\n\nSupport audit and inspection activities and ensure ongoing audit readiness.\n\nCoach and guide team members and contribute to the development of quality capabilities within the organization.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent experience.\n\nMinimum of 8 years of experience in IT Quality, IT Compliance, or a related Quality function.\n\nPrior experience with:\n\nCSV / CSA management\n\nQuality System management\n\nIdentification and execution of process improvement initiatives\n\nExperience managing or leading operational teams in an IT project environment.\n\nStrong knowledge of software development lifecycle (including GAMP 5, Waterfall & Agile), IT Change Management, and IT controls.\n\nExperience working in regulated environments with audit and inspection requirements.\n\nStrong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders.\n\nExperience managing service providers and external partners.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nCertifications such as:\n\nISTQB Certified Tester - Foundation Level\n\nASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) or equivalent demonstrated mastery of software quality engineering principles.\n\nISO 9001 or ISO 13485\n\nExperience with GxP environments and inspection readiness activities.\n\nPrior experience in Software Quality Assurance (SQA) roles.\n\nDemonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and foster a quality-driven mindset across teams.\n\nExperience supporting SAP platforms (ECC, S/4HANA, or SAP GxP modules) within GxP environments.\n\nApply now\nFollow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
