Structural Heart Business Mission: Why We Exist - Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease.\nWe are seeking an experienced, high caliber Planner/Buyer to ensure continuity of supply of materials needed for production and new product development teams. Activities include obtaining quotations, generating purchase orders, scheduling deliveries, communicating schedule impacts, and generating work orders.\nWhat You'll Work On\nManages purchase orders for both components and services needed to support production and project requirements, including generating orders, ensuring on-time receiving and G/IR reconciliation.\nCommunicates purchase order requirements to suppliers and take appropriate action for schedule adherence and continuity of supply.\nWorks closely with Global Planning, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and other functional areas to optimize inventory and minimize material shortages and disruption to Operations and/or development schedules.\nParticipates in supply chain initiatives and project teams.\nDevelops and maintains strong supplier relationships.\nCoordinates the return of materials to suppliers.\nSets and maintains ERP system parameters (i.e., safety stock, lead time, etc.).\nFiles documents and/or records.\nSupports company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and other regulatory requirements.\nComplies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. \nMaintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.\nGenerates work orders and takes appropriate actions to manage the day-to-day build schedule.\nManages production orders to identify possible part shortages or significant changes in inventory.\nManages production orders in SAP, including engineering order set up and old order clean-up.\nRequired\nBachelor’s Degree in related business field (Supply Chain, Finance, Business Admin, etc.) OR Associates degree and equivalent experience. \n1+ years’ experience in Procurement.\nKnowledge of ISO, FDA QSR, and cGMP. Strong understanding of lot control / traceability required.\nRecent experience with large-scale MRP/ERP system, such as SAP or Oracle.\nStrong proficiency with computer software, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.\nStrong understanding of current MRP/ERP, purchasing, planning, inventory management, and production principles.\nHigh attention to detail.\nExcellent organizational and communication skills.\nProven ability to represent Company with outside suppliers in a professional manner.\nAble to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple projects/priorities.\nPreferred\nMedical device manufacturing industry experience.\nProfessional certification in purchasing or materials management.\nStrong understanding of lot control/traceability experience.\nProficiency with SAP.\nProject management experience\nWhat We Offer\nAt Abbott, you can have a good job that can grow into a great career.
