We’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.\nWe’re seeking a dynamic and strategic procurement professional to lead Electronics Category Management who will be responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies; driving value by reducing total cost; mitigating supply risks; improving quality and leading continuous improvement initiatives.\nKey responsibilities include supplier identification and qualification, competitive bidding, total cost analysis, market intelligence, supplier consolidation, and supplier relationship management. The role also ensures contract compliance and partners with stakeholders to track and improve supplier performance.\nWhat You’ll Work On\nWe are seeking a high caliber and ambitious Category Manager to join our team in Abbott Medical Devices. This position will be responsible for the Electronics components category globally.\nBuild and manage relationships with stakeholders (R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and corporate procurement) and suppliers\n\nTypically involved in large and/or more complex purchases and suppliers that have higher impact on the organization’s products, processes and budget.\n\nDevelop and implement category and supplier strategies aligned to business growth and margin goals\n\nProvide market intelligence to inform sourcing and category strategy\n\nLead sourcing and supplier selection processes and negotiate contracts\n\nAnalyze total cost of ownership (TCO) and drive cost-saving initiatives\n\nConduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; Identify and mitigate supply chain risks (geopolitical, financial, operational)\n\nDevelop contingency and dual sourcing strategies for critical components\n\nLead supplier relationship management to improve quality, cost, and delivery; support the supplier delivery and quality escalation from internal stakeholders\n\nImplement supplier scorecards and lead business reviews\n\nEnsure supplier compliance with regulatory, environmental, and ethical standards\n\nSupport sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).\n\n6-10 years of Procurement and/or deep category management experience.\n\n3 years in regulated industry\n\nStrong contract negotiation experience\n\nAbility to work independently and within cross-functional teams\n\nStrong organizational, follow-up, and attention-to-detail skills\n\nAbility to travel approximately 20%, including international\n\nPreferred\nMicrosoft Office Suite proficiency.\n\nProfessional procurement certifications (CPSM, CPM, or similar).\n\nWhat We Offer\nAt Abbott, you can have a good job that can grow into a great career.
