The Opportunity
This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in the AQR Abbott Quality and Regulatory division.
As a Document Editor, you’llensure that changes made to controlled documents are appropriate, justified, and properly approved by responsible functional areas according to established procedures. In addition, this position is responsible forplanning and directing the initiation of new controlled documentation and revisions to existing documentation from Corporate and divisional functions.
What You’llWork On
- Support the document change control process to ensure that changes made to controlled documents are appropriate, justified, and properly approved by responsible functional areas.
- A primary contact to divisions for controlled document content, formatand change record requirements.
- Provide direction and leadership for the implementation of document management and archival systems to assureconsistent practices.
- Provide direction and leadership to the corporate and divisional groups on the use of the Document Management System (DMS) and planned improvements.
- Manage various divisional departmental projects.
- Use knowledge of document management to make decisions and resolve problems.
- Participate with identification of improvements to division document control processes to decrease change request turn aroundtimes
- Manage daily document flow within the Document Control domain to maintaindefined turn aroundtimes while ensuring priority changes are implemented as defined by divisional need.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
- Responsible for management of version control, resolutions of conflicting changes, and working closely with the document owners to assureall needs are met.
- Interact with executive level management to facilitatechangerecord package approvals.
- Act as a liaison between related functional groups concerning controlled documentation and archival.
- Initiate and execute projects to continuously improve the overall effectiveness of the Document Control department.
- Manage the document turn aroundtime to support business needs.
- Execute conversion of policy, process, procedure, guideline, and other controlled documents into the Document Management System.
- Participate in the implementation of future upgrades of the Document Management System, as required.
- Manage and track document control and archival metrics for the department.
- Supports the administration of the Learning Management System (LMS) and management tothe Quality System Training Program to ensure employees are trained to perform their activities.
- Provides Subject Matter Expertise on the learning process including learning management system to other functional areas.
- Ensureseffective communication, monitoringand promotion of learning activities.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma
- 5-7 years experiencein manufacturing, QA, or documentation control
- Relevant Quality & Compliance business experience
- Documentation experience as it relates to policies, processand procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: BachelorsDegree in Science, IT, Business or Engineering
- Mastery of Microsoft Suite

The base pay for this position is
$61,300.00 - $122,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
