In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.\nThe Financial Analyst II is responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis. They will prepare financial plans and forecasts based on performance expectations. They will gather and publish financial information related to historical, current and future performance. The Financial Analyst II will perform financial analysis utilizing appropriate financial concepts and techniques, or will recommend alternative courses of action.\nWhat You’ll Work\nDevelop detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic, trended and current business information.\nMonitor functional and departmental spending versus budget by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports.\nPrepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level.\nPrepare and distribute financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance.\nPerform financial analysis, as directed by management, and recommend alternatives courses of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools . (e.g. ROI, NPV analysis).\nEvaluate new business opportunities, potential acquisitions, new products, tax planning and spending initiatives by modeling alternative financial scenarios (e.g. evenues, profitability etc).\nPrepare sensitivity analysis impact on revenue, expenses and profitability by modeling changes in key variables.\nDevelop and utilize sound financial processes.\nCultivates a wide range of internal networks and begins to develop an external network of resources to facilitate completion of tasks.\nMay demonstrate basic project management skills by acting as a project lead on small, well defined projects.\nProvides guidance to less experienced staff.\nInfluence exerted at peer level and occasionally at first levels of management.\nPlans, organizes, and prioritizes own daily work routine to meet established schedule.\nExercises authority and judgment within defined limits to determine appropriate action.\nFailure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays and may result in the allocation of additional resources.\nWorks under general supervision.\nReceives limited supervision on standard issues, and detailed instructions on new assignments.
