Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum. The Senior Manufacturing Electrical Engineer provides technical leadership for manufacturing test systems, electrical troubleshooting, process improvement, and product quality initiatives. This role serves as a key technical resource supporting production, new product introductions, and continuous improvement efforts while driving manufacturing excellence through data-driven problem solving and engineering best practices.\nWhat You’ll Work On\nLead electrical failure analysis and root cause investigations for products, assemblies, and test systems to identify and implement corrective and preventive actions. \nAnalyze PCB schematics, layouts, component-level designs, and manufacturing processes to troubleshoot product and process-related issues. \nDevelop, validate, and optimize manufacturing test strategies, procedures, fixtures, and automated test equipment to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency. \nDesign and implement test plans, including protocol development, custom tooling and fixture design, data collection, analysis, and reporting. \nPerform in-depth analysis of manufacturing and test data to identify trends, drive process improvements, and improve product reliability and yield. \nSupport new product introduction (NPI) activities by developing manufacturing test solutions and ensuring design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-testability (DFT) requirements are met. \nModify, maintain, and improve manufacturing test platforms, including both hardware and software components. \nCollaborate with Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Operations teams to resolve technical issues and support production objectives. \nLead continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing efficiency, first-pass yield, equipment uptime, and cost reduction. \nPrepare technical documentation, engineering reports, validation protocols, work instructions, and engineering change documentation. \nMentor junior engineers and technicians while providing technical leadership on manufacturing and test-related projects. \nCommunicate technical findings, recommendations, and project updates effectively to stakeholders at all levels.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Bio Medical Engineering, or related engineering discipline. \nMinimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, test engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, preferably within a regulated manufacturing environment. \nUnderstanding of analog and digital circuit design, PCB schematics, and electronic troubleshooting techniques. \nExperience developing, supporting, and optimizing manufacturing test systems and automated test equipment (ATE). \nProficiency with electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, signal generators and spectrum analyzers. \nExperience with data analysis, root cause investigation, and implementation of corrective actions. \nProficiency in C# programming and Visual Studio development environment. \nExperience documenting engineering investigations, test procedures, validation activities, and technical reports. \nStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\n7 plus years of experience in manufacturing engineering, test engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, preferably within a regulated manufacturing environment. \nExperience in medical device manufacturing environments. \nExperience with BLE, wireless communication systems, RF testing, and associated test equipment. \nExperience with AOI systems, including Cognex vision system programming, troubleshooting, and optimization. \nExperience with Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing processes and PCB assembly operations.\nKnowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Testability (DFT), and process validation methodologies. \nExperience with SQL databases and manufacturing data systems. \nExperience with PLC programming, industrial automation, and machine controls. \nFamiliarity with Medical Device Quality Systems and regulatory requirements, including FDA, IEC, ISO 13485, UL, and CE standards. \nExperience supporting NPI, process development, and manufacturing scale-up activities. \nExperience leading cross-functional technical projects and continuous improvement initiatives.\nApply Now\nLearn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives:www.abbottbenefits.com\nFollow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
