In this high-impact role, you'll drive sourcing initiatives, optimize supplier performance, and ensure a reliable, cost-effective supply of materials, goods, and services that support manufacturing and business objectives.\nYou will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify cost savings opportunities, mitigate supply risks, improve operational efficiency, and support business growth. You will play a key role in shaping procurement strategy, strengthening supplier partnerships, and delivering value through innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a strategic procurement leader who enjoys influencing business decisions, driving results, and making a direct impact on operational and financial performance.\nWhat You’ll Work On\nExecute procurement and sourcing strategies aligned with enterprise and business unit objectives to ensure the reliable, compliant, and cost-effective supply of materials and services needed to support operational, manufacturing, and commercial requirements.\nLead and develop a team of procurement professionals responsible for procurement operations, including supplier relationship management, purchase order management, supplier performance monitoring, issue resolution, and compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and purchasing controls.\nIdentify, assess, and mitigate supplier, supply chain, and market risks to ensure continuity of supply, support inventory objectives, and achieve zero manufacturing disruptions.\nDrive financial performance through cost reduction initiatives, productivity improvements, inventory optimization, working capital management, and reduction of excess, obsolete, and distressed inventory while maintaining required service levels.\nEstablish and maintain effective supplier relationships and performance management processes to improve quality, delivery, service, responsiveness, and overall supplier reliability.\nPartner with Operations, Planning, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders to support business initiatives, product launches, process improvements, and continuous improvement activities.\nManage performance of staff towards department and Company goals, including feedback on performance, appraisals, recommendations for merit increases or necessary disciplinary actions, communication to employees on performance, etc..\nUnderstands and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job; has awareness of device defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification and validation, manufacturing, and testing activities.\nCarries out duties in compliance with established business policies.\nDemonstrated success managing supplier relationships, negotiating purchase agreements, ensuring continuity of supply, supporting inventory management objectives, and executing procurement processes that meet business, quality, delivery, and cost requirements. \nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Operations Management, or related discipline.\n7+ years of progressive experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, supplier management, or supply chain operations, including experience supporting manufacturing or operational environments. \nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree is preferred.\nExperience within a regulated industry such as medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or other manufacturing industries. \nStrong knowledge of procurement and purchasing processes, supplier management, contract administration, and sourcing activities.\nExperience evaluating supplier performance and resolving supply, quality, and delivery issues.\nDemonstrated ability to identify and mitigate supply risks to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.\nKnowledge of inventory management principles, demand planning interfaces, and working capital considerations.\nExperience implementing and maintaining compliant, standardized, efficient, and effective procurement practices.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a matrixed environment and collaborate with Operations, Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Finance teams.\nExperience leading, coaching, and developing procurement professionals.\nProficiency with ERP systems and procurement-related business tools\nCPSM, CPM, CSCP, or similar supply chain certification is preferred.\nLearn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives:www.abbottbenefits.com\nFollow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
