The Opportunity

This position works out of ourAlajuela location in the Vascular Division. Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease.

As the Supplier Quality Engineer III, you’ll have the chance to drive improvement in the quality of components and services sourced from external suppliers. Provides technical support in theselectionand evaluation of suppliers, monitors supplier performance to drive supplier corrective action, manufacturing yieldissuesand field failures.

Asrequired,supervisestheactivities,manpowerandresourceswithinthefunctionalareatoensuresupportisprovidedtomeetthedepartmentandcompanygoals.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsable forcompliancewithapplicableCorporateandDivisionalPoliciesandprocedures.

    • Assessespotentialnewsuppliersfortechnical,qualityandmanufacturingcapabilities.

      Providestechnicalsupportfortheintroductionofcomponentsfromanewsupplier.

      Evaluates,monitorandapprovenewandexistingexternalsuppliersbasedintheirqualificationsandperformance,actsasaspokespersontoexternalsuppliers.

      Analyzesincomingmaterialdefectsandcommunicatesissuestosuppliers.Investigatesfailuresrelatedtosuppliermaterials,dispositions,drivesandtrackscorrective/preventiveactionplanswherenecessary

      Generatestestprotocols,monitorstesting,issuesmaterialqualificationtestreportsandapprovescomponentsforuse.

      Assistsingeneratingcomponentspecifications,generatesandmaintainsincominginspectionproceduresandprovidesinputfromcomponentquality,inspectabilityandmanufacturabilityperspective.Trainsinspectorstotheseproceduresasrequired.

      Mentorsemployeesbysharingtechnicalexpertiseandprovidingfeedbackandguidance.

      Asrequired,supervisetechnicalpersonalfortaskexecution

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science, or equivalent field of study.
    • 2 of experience in engineering related position.
    • Intermediate command of English.
