including comprehensive medical insurance coverage, wellbeing support, and competitive rewards that recognize your contributions.\nA company recognized as a great place to work in dozens of countries around the world and named one of the most admired companies in the world by Fortune.\nThe Opportunity\nAs the Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for executing planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure plant, equipment and infrastructure operate safely, reliably and efficiently.\nThe role performs preventative and corrective maintenance, equipment inspections, fault finding, repairs and equipment improvements to minimise downtime and support safe, cost-effective manufacturing at the required production rate and quality.\nWhat You’ll Do\nExecute planned preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance schedules and work instructions.\nInspect, repair, replace and maintain plant and equipment to required standards.\nComplete maintenance activities efficiently and return equipment to safe and reliable operating condition.\nRespond effectively to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions.\nDiagnose mechanical, electrical or equipment faults within the scope of the role.\nIdentify the cause of equipment failures and undertake appropriate repairs.\nEscalate complex, recurring or significant equipment issues for further technical investigation.\nTest equipment following maintenance or repair to confirm safe and effective operation.\nIdentify equipment deterioration, defects and potential reliability issues during maintenance activities.\nProvide practical feedback on recurring equipment problems and opportunities to improve reliability or maintainability.\nSupport the implementation of equipment modifications and reliability improvements.\nWork with Reliability, Engineering and Operations teams to reduce repeat failures and unplanned downtime.\nComplete preventative maintenance inspections and tasks to required standards and frequencies.\nIdentify additional maintenance requirements arising from inspections or equipment condition.\nProvide feedback on the effectiveness and practicality of preventative maintenance tasks.\nEnsure defects identified during maintenance are appropriately recorded, communicated and escalated.\nAccurately record completed maintenance activities, equipment condition, faults and repairs within the maintenance management system.\nRecord parts and materials used and provide relevant information for future maintenance activities.\nMeet the requirements of ISO by complying with all relevant Quality policies and procedures to ensure the Quality objectives of the business are met.\nComply with all relevant company Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and work practices with the intent of preventing or minimizing accidental exposures to self, colleagues and/or the environment.\nEnsure any PPE provided by Abbott is worn.\nReport any accidents or incidents within 24 hours through allocated system and notify your manager.\nEnsure all activities carried out by self and others are in accordance with legislative employment policies, health & safety requirements and global policy.\nPromote a standard of excellence for quality and customer focus at Abbott.\nUphold the Abbott Code of Business Conduct.\nLive our Abbott Values - Pioneering, Achieving, Caring, Enduring.\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of Abbott standard operating procedures and policies and always ensure compliance.\nEnsure your Company related activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards.\nRequirements\nCompletion of all assigned Training to this role by the scheduled due date is mandatory.\nRecognized trade qualification in mechanical engineer, mechanical maintenance, fitting and machining or electrical engineering.\nDemonstrated maintenance experience within a manufacturing, processing or industrial environment.\nWhere undertaking prescribed electrical work, current EWRB registration and practising licence appropriate to the work performed.\nExperience working with automated manufacturing equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drive systems and/or industrial electrical systems relevant to the site is desirable.\nStrong equipment fault-finding, repair and preventative maintenance capability.\nDemonstrated commitment to safe maintenance practices, including isolation and permit-to-work requirements.\nTakes accountability for the quality and completion of maintenance work, follows through on identified issues and proactively highlights emerging equipment risks.\nWorks effectively with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering colleagues, clearly communicates equipment issues and contributes positively to a team-focused manufacturing environment.\nLocation:\nThis position is based in Auckland, New Zealand (RPD).\nFollow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
