The role will also be responsible for cost analyses and financial reporting by gathering, analyzing, and quantifying cost data. As a key partner to cross-functional teams, this position will help ensure the division meets its broader sourcing and financial objectives.\nThis position will be based out of our Abbott Diabetes Care in Alameda, CA and the individual will be expected to be onsite Monday-Friday.\nWhat You’ll Work On\nPurchasing Responsibilities may include:\nReviews supplier quotes for accuracy and creates supplier comparison reports that include various factors such as price, performance, project costs, tooling cost, and other metrics that are needed to make key supplier decisions. \nCreates purchase requisitions and internal approval forms and ultimately places Purchase Orders (PO) and manages the PO maintenance until it is closed to include invoice payment. \nLeads and executes assigned projects to assure all procurement activities are performed as required, including but not limited to ad hoc reporting, SOWs/RFI's/Ordering documents, etc., assisting with supplier selection, etc. \nWorks with inventory management/warehouse management to resolve issues. \nLead special projects as requested to reduce cost, increase efficiency, etc. \nMay process some or all of the following: rejected components/corrective action, returns, debit memos, etc. \nMaintaining and enhancing relationships with user departments to implement improvements in the supply chain to reduce lead times, inventory and material liabilities. \nPrepare detailed reports, both periodically and ad-hoc. \nCost Responsibilities may include:\nServe as the owner of financial cost reporting and support Senior Management and key stakeholders to gain understanding of key revenue and cost drivers. \nProvide value-added quantifications of purchase price variances and manufacturing costs. \nEnsure costs and pricing within the cost tracking system are accurate and timely. \nProvide analyses to support key business changes that impact the division. \nCreate cost models to help estimate and project future expenses. \nCollaborate with category managers to maintaining visibility to materials costs and identify key business cost drivers. \nMaintains compliance and supports all company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, Corporate and division policies, procedures, processes and other regulatory requirements. \nEnsures that all communications, actions, interactions and behaviours are consistent with ADC core values and the Abbott Code of Conduct. \nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Science, Finance or related degree \n0-2 years of procurement or functional experience\nExperience with database tools, data visualization and strong MS Excel desired\nAble to work under pressure and achieve tight timelines. \nStrong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset to achieve positive results\nCreative thinking; strong ability to think outside of the box and bring alternative or innovative ideas to the table\nAbility to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment\nAbility to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment\nStrong organizational and follow-up skills.\nAble to grasp and analyse complex issues and effectively resolve them.\nGood attention to detail and high standards of accuracy.\nApply Now\nLearn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives:www.abbottbenefits.com\nFollow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
