Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the Freestyle Precision, Freestyle Lite and Freestyle Libre systems.\nThis is for a new position to be located in Kilkenny, Ireland, but working as part of the Engineering Data & Analytics team within ADC's Global Engineering function.\nMain purpose of the role\nWe are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our Engineering Data & Analytics team at our Kilkenny manufacturing facility.\nThis role will be focused on supporting local site initiatives while also contributing to global Engineering Data & Analytics programmes. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Technical Services, and site leadership teams, you will transform complex data into meaningful insights that improve performance, support decision making, and accelerate continuous improvement.\nThe successful candidate will combine strong analytical capability with business understanding, helping teams identify opportunities, quantify performance, solve problems, and measure outcomes through data.\nThis is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with stakeholders, influencing business decisions, and delivering tangible operational impact.\nMain Responsibilities\nDeliver Business Insights\nAnalyse manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.\nTranslate complex datasets into clear and actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.\nDevelop meaningful KPIs, metrics, and performance measures that support business objectives.\nSupport data-driven decision making across multiple functions within the site.\nSupport Manufacturing & Engineering Operations\nPartner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Continuous Improvement teams to solve complex business challenges.\nIdentify performance improvement opportunities through statistical analysis and data exploration.\nInvestigate process variation, performance gaps, and root causes using structured analytical methodologies.\nMeasure and track the effectiveness of improvement initiatives and operational programmes.\nDevelop Analytics Solutions\nDesign and develop dashboards, reports, visualisations, and self-service analytics solutions.\nWork with data engineers and platform teams to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and fit for purpose.\nSupport the development of advanced analytics capabilities that improve business performance.\nHelp establish best practices for analytics, reporting, and business intelligence across the site.\nSupport Global Programmes\nAct as the primary analytics representative for global Engineering Data & Analytics projects being deployed to the Kilkenny site.\nEnsure global solutions are effectively adopted and local business requirements are represented.\nCollaborate with colleagues across Europe and the United States to share insights, best practices, and analytical approaches.\nSupport standardisation of metrics, reporting, and analytical methodologies across the manufacturing network.\nProvide Leadership & Influence\nServe as a trusted advisor to site stakeholders on data and analytics matters.\nPresent findings and recommendations to engineering teams, site leadership, and global stakeholders.\nMentor junior analysts and help develop analytical capability across the organisation.\nPromote a culture of fact-based decision making and continuous improvement.\nQualifications & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.\nSignificant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, operational analytics, or engineering analytics.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience working with complex datasets.\nAdvanced SQL skills and experience querying large datasets.\nExperience developing automation and analytics solutions using Python or similar scripting/programming tools to streamline processes, integrate data sources, and support data-driven decision making.\nExperience creating data visualizations, dashboards, and analytical reporting solutions using a range of tools and technologies (e.g., Power BI, Python, JavaScript, JMP, Tableau, Spotfire, R, or similar platforms).\nAbility to communicate insights effectively to both technical and business audiences.\nExperience working with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.\nPreferred Experience\nExperience within Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, or other regulated industries.\nExperience supporting manufacturing operations, engineering functions, quality systems, or supply chain processes.\nUnderstanding of statistical analysis techniques and process performance measurement.\nExperience working with Databricks, Spark, or modern cloud-based analytics platforms.\nKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.\nExperience supporting digital transformation or Industry 4.0
