This position is on site.\nWe’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision-making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.\nWhat You’ll Work On\nBuild and maintain scalable data pipelines and data integration processes using Azure Data Factory.\n\nServe as the primary technical contact for system integration efforts with internal and external teams.\n\nLead the design, selection, and implementation of modern data platforms and analytics solutions, including Databricks, Azure OneLake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Snowflake.\n\nDesign and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support business needs in cloud-based environments.\n\nProvide technical leadership and support for System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Integration Testing (UIT) involving enterprise IT systems.\n\nDesign and support multi-tenant database architectures and database sharding strategies to optimize performance and scalability.\n\nDevelop and promote data engineering standards, best practices, and governance processes across teams.\n\nConduct code reviews and design reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.\n\nPartner with business and technical stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and cost-effective data solutions.\n\nShare expertise and educate teammates on modern data engineering concepts and best practices.\n\nWork closely with geographically dispersed teams and cross-functional partners.\n\nCollaborate with Verification & Validation (V&V) teams to support testing and quality initiatives.\n\nParticipate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and team activities.\n\nEvaluate current development processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.\n\nIdentify complex business and technical challenges and develop effective solutions.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve data, integration, and system issues in dynamic environments.\n\nRecommend multiple solution options and guide teams toward the best approach.\n\nEnsure data solutions meet established quality, security, and compliance standards.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nExperience in delivering products for the Medical Device industry.\n\n7+ years of experience in software development involving database design.\n\nBachelor of Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse, Mongo DB, Databricks.\n\nMaster's degree in computer science or similar degree.\n\nDeveloping using Python and T-SQL.\n\nExperience with RDBMS and NoSQL\n\nHands on experience crafting and implementing data pipelines across large scale systems.\n\nExperience implementing data pipelines with Azure is a must.\n\nProduction delivery experience in Cloud based PaaS related technologies (Azure SQL Database.
