The Heart Failure team is focused on helping people with heart failure manage their health and ultimately change and save lives. The engineer will be primarily working on the CardioMEMS HF system, which remotely monitors changes in pulmanry artery (PA) pressure, an early indicator of the onset of worsening heart failure, to aid physicians in preventing worsening heart failure, lower heart failure mortality rates, and improve quality of life for our heart failure patients. The role is within the R&D organization charged with developing and releasing the next generations of CardioMEMS components while also supporting the current generation of products.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nContribute to a team committed to delivering the next generation of CardioMEMS products to help our patients (and their clinicians) manage their heart failure\nConduct bench and preclinical studies supporting product development teams for concept feasibility and formal regulatory submission \nContribute to the continuous improvement of CardioMEMS electronic designs\nDraft test protocols and reports \nIndependently plan, coordinate, and execute activity in support of project goals \nSupport design reviews \nSupport development of risk management documentation \nGain an understanding of the quality and regulatory requirements of Abbott, FDA and ISO regulations \nComply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. \nMaintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors \nPerform other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned \nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or biomedical engineering, or similar\n5+ years’ experience designing, testing, manufacturing or other engineering support\nExperience owning and driving deliverables within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment \nStrong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization Distilling complex topics into easily digestible content headlining key points\n\nDemonstrated initiative in going beyond assigned tasks on own agency\nHistory of applying critical thinking to address design challenges\nProficient in collaborating with project stakeholders (client and internal), end-users, business partners, and technical team members \nStrong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail \nAbility to plan, execute, analyze, and document individual scientific studies \nAbility to collect, organize, and analyze data using statistical methods \nDemonstrated history of two or more of the following:Releasing to production an electro-mechanical design with design-responsibility of the ECAD\n Design of radio frequency antenna elements (modelling and characterization of antennas - preferably low frequency)\nUse of automation for characterization and/or data analysis to spead design cycles\nThe translation of electrical requirements into circuit designs and specifications\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMedical device experience \nExperience working with an electronic document control system (Windchill, etc.)\nExperience working with cross-functional teams in a geographically diverse, matrixed organization\nApply Now\nLearn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives:www.abbottbenefits.com\nFollow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
