This role requires a strong technical leader with a passion for engineering excellence, who can guide technical direction and collaborate across teams. You will design and deliver scalable, highly available, secure, and compliant cloud solutions for a medical device platform. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning and mentoring others.\nWhat You’ll Work On\nLearn and improve our existing React and Go based health care platforms.\n\nDesign and implement services, features, and components utilizing React, Node and Go.\n\nDeveloping high-volume, low-latency services for a global health care platform\n\nCollaborate with internal and external partners to develop and integrate with APIs that empower users to share and utilize their medical data in partner systems.\n\nDesign and implement highly maintainable unit testable code.\n\nCollaborate directly with InfoSec teams to design and implement secure solutions.\n\nCollaborate with both internal and external team members to shape and define API contracts.\n\nProvide new ideas and insight in collaboration with the data services team.\n\nEnsure performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design.\n\nContribute to significant architectural and operational decisions in collaboration with the Architecture team.\n\nBuild out internal tooling and APIs to make business and engineering processes easier, faster, and safer.\n\nImplement systemic changes to align existing systems with current architectural goals.\n\nCreate diagrams, flowcharts and models that illustrate the internal design and workflow of solution components.\n\nCollaborate as an engaged member of an Agile team focused on realizing features through development, test, and delivery.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related engineering discipline) and/or equivalent training & work experience.\n\nMinimum 5 years of professional software development experience in an Agile environment, including time spent in technical residency programs.\n\nFull stack software development experience in Go, React, Node, Javascript, HTML, CSS and JSX.\n\nStrong Computer Science fundamentals and experience with software development\n\nHighly motivated to learn new software development languages to meet goals and objectives.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail\n\nDemonstrated track record of working well with others in cross-functional roles in fast-paced and changing environments, including asynchronously with distributed teams.\n\nExperience conducing effective and collaborative code reviews with colleagues.\n\nPractical experience and understanding of working with and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.\n\nExperience contributing to a scalable architecture/design of existing and new systems that are highly available and easy to maintain and monitor.\n\nUnderstanding and familiarity with Test Driven Development (TDD)\n\nUnderstands Object Oriented Programming and design and building modular, unit testable code.\n\nExperience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly complex asynchronous messaging and backend processing jobs.\n\nExperience with Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working with multilanguage support, internationalization, and/or content management systems.\n\nDeep backend understanding and experience in Go and/or React.\n\nExperience working with both relational and documented oriented datastores such as SQL Server, Postgresql, or MySql.\n\nExperience with data visualization in D3\n\nPractical knowledge of Linux.\n\nUnderstanding the concepts of Docker Containers and container orchestration services such as Docker Swarm, ECS, and Kubernetes.\n\nExperience with Grafana, Segment, Sentry, feature flagging, and/or Mixpanel.\n\nExperience with open-source software development, current/emerging trends, and can make recommendations to help the organization innovate.\n\nApply Now\nLearn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives:www.abbottbenefits.com\nFollow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
