This position is open with our AlinIQ informatics products in Core Lab Division. This role is on site daily and is not remote. The Sr. Software Engineer in Test (SET) reports into the AlinIQ Product Research and Development organization in Abbott Diagnostics. The SET is responsible for design, development, execution, review and reporting of automated testing for informatics products in compliance with division, corporate, and industry regulation. This position will help build out and maintain our automation tools and test scripts.\nThe SET will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for product research and development teams in automation practices. The role requires the ability to work in an environment that is fast paced, to work independently, and to communicate and collaborate well as part of a team.\nWhat You’ll Work On\nThe SET will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for agile product research and development teams in automation practices.\nDesign test cases, script, and automate test cases for test-driven development and continuous testing for server, web, cloud, and mobile informatics products in collaboration with scrum-based cross-functional design and development teams\nDesign and perform manual test cases and informal testing\nDesign and maintain test automation framework\nIdentify and perform test case and test case run analysis to determine adequacy of testing, including coverage, boundary, and regression analysis\nUnderstand the architecture, hosting infrastructure, interaction with dependency application and complete feature workflow to assess the risks around integration points before developing great test cases\nLead testing efforts in automation, design, development, execution, review, and reporting of testing for our AlinIQ informatics products in Core Diagnostics. \nThis position will lead the build out and maintenance of our automation tools, test scripts, and provide guidance to other test engineers.\nProvide input to systems and applications developers on testing procedures and requirements, schedules, or potential problems\nProvide test and automation leadership to testing team, including peer testing automation review, definition of criteria for testing, analyzing test results, and presenting results to developers and other stakeholders\nHelp organize QA activities for the project and delivery of release documentation in conformance with regulatory, security, and privacy standards for all types of testing such as functional, performance, and regression\nAccountable for estimating, establishing commitments, and meeting incremental deliverables (software builds) according to plans, practices, and quality requirements\nAble to apply the latest software design and development tools and techniques as required\nPosition includes mentoring junior members of the team and ensuring the correct procedures and processes are being followed for both software quality and compliance.\nReview code diff analysis and develop a robust regression test strategy.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.\n2+ years of Software Quality Assurance in a regulated industry is required. \nModerate knowledge of Agile methodologies \nModerate level of understanding of test-driven methodologies\nDemonstrated success in technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills \nStrong analytical & problem-solving skills \nAbility to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities\nPreferred qualifications:\nProficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.\n At Least 5 years of experience in related work experience.\nProficiency in SQL, Postgres or other RDBMS technology\nExperience with BrowserStack/Other Test Automation Tools and Selenium WebDriver preferred.\nExperience in the management of requirements and test cases (JAMA, JIRA and Atlassian toolset experience preferred).\nExperience in Scrum ceremonies.\nFamiliarity with design of diagnostic medical devices and/or informatics software is a plus.\nFamiliarity with design of diagnostic medical devices and/or informatics software is a plus.\nAbility to work on site daily in Lake Forest, IL area as this role is not remote nor is relocation assistance available. \nLearn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives: https://abbottbenefits.com/\nFollow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
