Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, the role supports software design, implementation, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation across embedded and device-facing systems. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams and adapts to evolving technologies, including responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools.\nResponsibilities:\nParticipate in requirements refinement, software design discussions, design reviews, and test-planning activities under the guidance of senior engineers.\nDesign, implement, test, and maintain software used in medical devices and associated engineering tools.\nWrite clean, maintainable code and supporting documentation using established engineering practices.\nSupport software integration, debugging, and troubleshooting involving embedded software, electronics, electromechanical components, and device communication interfaces.\nDevelop and execute unit, component, integration, or automated tests as appropriate for assigned work.\nParticipate in code reviews and support defect investigation, root-cause analysis, and resolution of product or field issues.\nCollaborate with Systems, Software Test, Quality, Manufacturing, Product Support, and other cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.\nContribute to regulated software lifecycle documentation, including requirements, design descriptions, test documentation, traceability records, and technical reports.\nFollow established software development, configuration management, cybersecurity, quality-system, DevOps, and Agile practices.\nResearch and responsibly use modern engineering tools, including AI-assisted development tools, while verifying outputs and maintaining ownership of the final engineering work.\n Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n0-2 years of relevant experience, including internships, co-ops, research, capstone work, academic projects, or industry experience.\nFoundational understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, and structured or object-oriented design.\nExperience with one or more programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, or Java through coursework, projects, internships, or employment.\nBasic understanding of software testing, debugging, source control, and configuration management practices.\nExposure to embedded software, real-time systems, microcontrollers, device communication, or hardware/software integration is preferred.\nFamiliarity with communication interfaces or protocols such as UART/RS232, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth is helpful.\nExposure to regulated product development, medical devices, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, or FDA quality-system requirements is helpful but not required.\nDemonstrated curiosity and ability to learn new technologies, including effective and responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools; able to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated output.\nStrong problem-solving, analytical, verbal, written communication, and teamwork skills.\n Applicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law:\nThe compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
