The Associate Director will enable strategic planning and execution of both current and long-term Development Sciences goals. This position is responsible for financial planning and analysis related to Plan, Update, LBE and LRP as well as support of strategic initiatives. The Development Sciences annual budget averages $1.4B - $1.5B, approximately 2,800 resources across seven sites, four pilot plants, six vivariums and capital responsibility between $40MM-$60MM annually.\nMajor Responsibilities:\nLiaison with Therapeutics Area Finance to understand financial impacts to Development Science due to related governance funding decisions (for example, EPG, LMG, and PRF). Review all funding requests prior to submission for CMC and CDSM activities (enrollment curves, generic opportunities).\nDrives financial analyses for various business initiatives across CDSM and CMC organizations that lend insight into key business drivers enabling management to adapt more appropriate tactics/strategies to meet the LRP objectives for Internals and Externals.\nWorking across BD and Integration Teams, drive integration activities and/or of newly acquired companies/assets into the R&D portfolio impacting internal and external spending\nEnsures cross-functional alignment on financial assumptions related to PDS&T R&D funding for Plan, LRP, and LBEs\nDrive initiatives to identify capacity constraints across suite space, internal resources, and technology capabilities, while improving visibility and forecasting of potential budget overruns associated with CMOs and external services\nWorking closely with R&D Strategic Resourcing and Dev Sci Functions to optimize resource models and impact to future demand/capacity related to 2,800 resources\nResponsible for driving capital project approval, tracking, and financial implementation of major pilot plant upgrades and expansions.\nAssists with all financial aspects of key functional projects and systems initiatives to ensure finance requirements are implemented appropriately and process efficiencies are realized\nThis position will require a large amount of interface across senior management within R&D Finance and multiple functions within R&D to optimize decision making, meet financial commitments, ensure forecasts are appropriately built.\n BA in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA a plus.\n8+ years of progressive Accounting or Finance experience.\nStrong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to influence without direct authority.\nStrong project management skills, which includes leadership in organizing, planning, and executing projects from inception to implementation.\nSelf-starter with ability to operate independently, identify and implement process improvements, and adjust priorities to achieve objectives and operate with speed and agility.\nAbility to work in a matrix organization, build strong partnerships, influence work partners - both business and finance.\nStrong Excel and PowerPoint skills.\nKnowledge of SAP and BPC.\nExperience leading and/or influencing a diverse team.\n Applicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law:\nThe compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
