This Data Scientist role will have wide-ranging analytics experience to work within a diverse Operations business. The Data Scientist will build and oversee the building of predictive/prescriptive models using statistical and machine-learning methodologies. The Data Scientist will also ensure end-to-end delivery of assigned data science applications, studies, and POCs through oversight of project teams and key technology partnerships.\n\nOperate cross-functionally in a highly collaborative manner with fellow data scientists, senior functional leaders, and business partners.\nConsult with business users in the analysis of requirements and recommend solutions which anticipate the future impact of changing business needs.\nDevelop advanced data analytical models and techniques from supervised and unsupervised machine learning, statistical analysis, deep learning, predictive modeling, and Gen AI.\nBuild relationships with stakeholders and collaborate with other statistical and data science teams in AbbVie while mentoring and coaching team members.\nEnsure that data presented to key stakeholders and presentations maintain study integrity. This role is required to support multiple use cases and should ensure that each work product is fit for purpose\nIf assigned, participates in functional innovation and process improvement initiatives\nEnsures adherence to federal regulations and applicable local regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), ICH Guidelines, AbbVie Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and to functional quality standards. Stays abreast of new and/or evolving local regulations, guidelines and policies related to clinical development\nResponsible for coaching and mentoring junior team members\nIdentify business needs and support the creation of standard KPIs, reports, and statistical analyses\nBachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Advanced Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Operational Research, Computer Science, or Econometrics AND/OR applied science field such as Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, or Biology. Master’s degree preferred.\n6+ years’ business experience in business analytics, manufacturing data analytics, data mining, or statistical modeling in a cGMP related industry. Manufacturing life science experience is preferred.\nKnowledge of global regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical, medical devices, and combination products. Knowledge of FDA Quality Systems, pharmaceutical products, and Medical Device Reporting regulations (21 CFR 803, 820 and 211) is preferred.\nAbility to execute analytical investigations methodically while outputting reproducible insights and analyses.\nSoftware experience - Demonstrated proficiency with at least one statistical programming package (e.g., R, SAS, JMP, Minitab). Familiarity in Python, SQL, relational databases (Teradata, Oracle etc.), and/or BI tools (PowerBI, Qliksense). Experience with data visualization/pipelining tools (e.g., Spotfire, Tableau, Pipeline Pilot etc.) and automated statistical process control platforms (e.g., Discoverant, Statistica, NWA, etc.) is preferred.\nProficiency in SQL, cloud architecture, database administration, and relational database management with the capability to create automated ETL processes and data models.\nStrong problem solving and interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a diverse team including data engineers, IT, and business analytics teams.\nStrong communication skills, written and verbal, and strong attention to detail.\nLean Six Sigma Greenbelt/Blackbelt certification is preferred.\nApplicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law:\nThe compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
