The role will support pre-payroll and year-end activities, review and validate payroll files prepared internally or by the Global Payroll Vendor (GPV), and ensure all critical payroll deadlines are met. The specialist will also provide timely, professional support to employees and managers by resolving payroll-related queries and collaborating with internal stakeholders and external providers to maintain a reliable and efficient payroll service.\nKey responsibilities\nProcess and correct payroll transactions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to key payroll deadlines.\nPartner with internal stakeholders and the GPV to process payroll and resolve transaction errors.\nReview, validate, and approve payroll files and reports, including payroll reconciliation and bank files.\nSupport pre-payroll activities, including finalizing data entry, reviewing master-data quality, and confirming the completeness of time and payroll inputs.\nResolve input and processing errors with third-party vendors and internal AbbVie stakeholders, including bank errors in partnership with Treasury.\nSupport year-end payroll activities, including payroll calendars, year-end tax-report reviews, and employee communications on tax information.\nRespond to payroll-related questions from Tax, Treasury, Finance, BHR, employees, and managers, and support internal and external audits.\nLead smaller global, regional, and country-specific projects and contribute to global project teams.\nProvide indirect leadership and functional guidance to contractors across the affiliate.\n Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Finance or Accounting.\n8+ years of payroll operations experience within inhouse or corporate preferably MNC's.\nCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or equivalent.\nWorking knowledge of Workday and experience integrating with third-party applications.\nStrong customer focus and a demonstrated commitment to exceeding expectations.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English.\nAbility to work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment while collaborating effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.\nStrong analytical and process diagnostic skills, with the ability to balance attention to detail with a broad business perspective.\nProficiency in spreadsheets and databases, with a continuous improvement mindset.\nStrong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.\n AbbVie is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to operating with integrity, driving innovation, transforming lives and serving our community.
