The Service Technician IV assists shop leadership in troubleshooting difficult repairs, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring service work is completed efficiently and safely.\nKey Responsibilities:\nInspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain motorcoaches, commercial and non-commercial vehicles, and other equipment as directed.\nPerform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and electronic vehicle systems.\nServe as a technical resource for Service Technicians I-III, assisting with complex repairs and problem resolution.\nAssist shop leadership in troubleshooting difficult repairs and identifying root causes of recurring mechanical issues.\nEnsure all repairs and diagnostic findings are accurately documented on work orders using shop computer systems and associated software.\nMaintain and promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.\nMaintain compliance with EPA, OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.\nIdentify required parts and materials needed to complete repairs and communicate with parts personnel as needed.\nMaintain accurate time and attendance reporting.\nContinuously work to expand knowledge and maintain proficiency in emerging technologies, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques.\nDemonstrate professionalism and uphold ABC’s core values at all times.\nOther duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nQualifications:\n5-10 years of motorcoach or heavy commercial vehicle service experience required.\nExperience with heavy-duty diesel equipment strongly preferred, including tractor/trailer, heavy machinery, or material handling equipment.\nHigh-voltage / electric vehicle (EV) experience highly valued. Candidates with significant EV experience may be considered with slightly less coach-specific experience.\nPrevious shop lead or senior technician experience preferred, but not required.\nDemonstrated ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics across complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and electronic vehicle systems.\nProven ability to serve as a technical resource for other technicians and providing guidance.\nExperience performing root cause analysis and advanced diagnostics to resolve recurring mechanical or system issues.\nMust possess the tools necessary to complete assigned responsibilities.\nExperience with body and frame repairs and interior component repair and replacement.\nAudio/Video systems knowledge preferred but not required.\nEPA refrigerant certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days.\nComputer proficiency required, including Microsoft Office, service writing systems, work order tracking, and shop software.\nValid driver’s license required. CDL Class B with passenger endorsement preferred.\nRelevant certifications (ASE, Cummins, Detroit, Allison, etc.) preferred.\nSkills:\nStrong technical and diagnostic abilities\nStrong problem solving skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nStrong communication skills\nWillingness to travel when required and work overtime or weekends as needed\nPhysical Demands:\nAbility to move items weighing at least 100 pounds\nAbility to stand, bend, and move constantly for extended periods of time (80-100% of shift)\nAbility to work indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time\nABC Companies is an equal opportunity employer.
