Team members work in a physically demanding environment where meeting productivity standards and safety standards are required. The Warehouse Floater is responsible for performing a variety of warehouse duties including shipping, receiving and humidor as well as being able to serve as Order Selector, Forklift Operator, Loader, and/or Picker/Packer when needed. The position is physically demanding and includes driving forklift and other equipment.The hours of this position are: Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 5:00pm. * End times may vary due to needs of the business.\nSpecific Job Responsibilities\nServes as a floater in all areas of the ABC warehouse/distribution center\nAnticipates and observes needs and “jumps in” as needed in various departments during work shift\nLiaisons with warehouse team leader to communicate observed needs in the warehouse and respond to changing needs as needed\nEnsure deliveries are completed in a timely manner and verifies loads with shipping documents\nInspects the shipping areas to ensure quality standards are being met\nAssists the shipping team leader by reviewing and adjusting the needs of production for each individual shipping area\nOperates a forklift, stock picker or turret truck to assist in the movement of product throughout the distribution center, when assistance is needed\nAssists and trains new team members as needed upon request of supervisor\nInspects the warehouse for safety standards, such as reviewing that all areas are free from obstacles that may hinder the safe operation of the facility\nServes as a senior team member, able to work in multiple departments\nOther duties as assigned by your supervisor\nWarehouse Responsibilities - All Employees\nFollow all ABC safety protocols\nPromptly report and clean up spills, breakage or other issues\nLift 35-50-pound cases, sometimes a hundred times a day\nStand on feet for 10+ hours a day\nMaintain minimum productivity standards per department\nAssemble boxes for spilt case line\nClean, sanitize, and keep warehouse tidy\nPrepare work area for next day, including charging equipment and organizing area\nOther duties as assigned by your department leader.\nJob Requirements\nMinimum Experience, Skills, and Education\nJob Specific Requirements\n5+ years proven work experience in a warehouse environment\nExpertise in warehouse procedures and best practices\nMust be a team player, including the ability to communicate well with others\nMust be able to work independently with little supervision\nStrong knowledge of AS400 Warehouse Systems\nMust be able to work a full-time schedule, with occasional nights and weekends during busy seasons. Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 5:00pm. * End times may vary due to needs of the business.\nExcellent decision-making and problem-solving skills\nCertified in forklift operations\nAble to use a picker machine, turret truck, and other equipment as needed\nMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment\nAbility to assess and react quickly to changing warehouse needs\nAble to prioritize work independently for the biggest positive impact to warehouse operations\nWarehouse Requirements - All Employees\n19 years of age or older\nMust pass both drug and background checks prior to starting work\nMust speak and understand job-level English\nHave a positive teamwork attitude; is reliable and trust-worthy\nPhysical Requirements\nWith or Without Accommodations\nMust be able to remain standing for long periods of time, upwards of 10 hours at a time, and move throughout the warehouse\nMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds of product\nMust be able to reach with hands and arms for product and use hands to work with and feel product\nAble to frequently climb and descend ladders or lift platforms that may be greater than 6 feet.\nAble to move body to access products that are out of reach above or below body level\nSense of smell occasionally needed to find damages that may not be visible\nClose vision (at 20 inches or less), distance vision (at 20 feet or more), peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus are needed.\nWork Environment\nWhile performing this position’s duties, the team member is regularly exposed to humid conditions while working inside the warehouse.
