ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

We are looking for a dedicated, reliable, and hardworking Cleaning Operative to join our team at Eastgate Shopping Centre. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a professional team responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for visitors, retailers, and colleagues.

As a Cleaning Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained throughout the centre. You will work as part of a supportive team, delivering both planned and reactive cleaning services to help create an exceptional customer experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the shopping centre.

· Clean and sanitise lifts, including stainless steel surfaces, lift doors, frames, runners, and mirrors.

· Sweep, mop, and maintain floor surfaces throughout public and back-of-house areas.

· Clean and sanitise washrooms and staff facilities, replenishing consumables as required.

· Empty waste bins and manage waste disposal in accordance with site procedures.

· Set up, maintain, and safely store cleaning equipment and materials.

· Monitor assigned areas and proactively address cleaning requirements.

· Respond promptly to spillages and other reactive cleaning tasks.

· Support Team Leaders and Supervisors to ensure service excellence is consistently delivered.

· Complete all required training and comply with Health & Safety procedures and company policies.

Requirements

· Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

· Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.

· A positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude.

· Reliable, punctual, and flexible in approach to work.

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
