In this role, you will own key areas of the revenue close process, preparing and reviewing audit-ready reconciliations, workpapers, journal entries, and analyses that support monthly close, financial reporting, and external audit requirements. The ideal candidate operates independently, exercises strong judgment, and is motivated to strengthen how revenue accounting operates by standardizing processes, enhancing controls, and leveraging automation and AI-enabled workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.\nWhat You Will Do\nOwn the preparation and review of monthly revenue-related reconciliations, rollforwards, and supporting schedules\nPrepare and review journal entries and flux analyses for revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable, commissions, and other related accounts\nMaintain complete, audit-ready documentation for recurring close activities, including organized workpapers, reconciliations, and supporting evidence\nLead assigned revenue close deliverables, ensuring work is completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with established policies and controls\nInvestigate and resolve accounting issues, unusual items, and reconciling differences in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders\nSupport external audits by preparing support, coordinating requests, responding to inquiries, and documenting accounting positions\nPartner with Deal Desk, FP&A, Legal, and other teams to resolve operational issues and improve upstream process quality\nIdentify and drive opportunities to streamline close activities through standardization, automation, and AI-enabled workflows\nMust Haves\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field\n4+ years of progressive accounting, audit, or related finance experience\nStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with experience applying revenue recognition guidance and related accounting principles\nDemonstrated experience owning or leading recurring close activities, reconciliations, and financial analyses in a fast-paced environment\nStrong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail, and the ability to identify issues, evaluate root causes, and implement solutions with limited oversight\nAdvanced Excel skills, including reconciliations, lookups, and analysis of large datasets\nNice to Have\nExperience applying ASC 606 and ASC 340-40 in a SaaS revenue accounting environment\nExperience at a Big Four public accounting firm, a high-growth pre-IPO company, or a publicly traded technology company\nExperience with ERP, billing, and close-management systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Maxio, or FloQast\nCPA license (or active progress toward CPA) and interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve accounting processes\nActual compensation will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.\nIn addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.\nBase salary range:\n$95,600—$137,500 USD\nA note on AI in our process: \n Abnormal AI uses AI-assisted tools to help our recruiting team prepare for candidate interviews.
