We have offices located in the Mission District in San Francisco, the SoHo neighborhood of New York, and East Liberty in Pittsburgh.\nThe Role\nAbridge is looking for a People Operations Generalist to join our People team and keep our core People Ops work running smoothly: onboarding, benefits, workers’ comp, compliance, and HR support tickets. You’ll work closely with the Head of People Operations and the rest of the People team to keep things running smoothly and build processes that keep up as we scale.\nThis role suits someone who is proactive, moves fast, and brings solutions instead of questions. They’re resilient when priorities shift, comfortable with ambiguity, and have a bias for action. They enjoy owning the details, switching between tasks easily, and want to help scale People Ops at a fast-growing startup.\nWhat You’ll Do\nHR Support & Systems\nTriage and respond to employee questions in our HR ticketing system quickly and accurately, and escalate when needed.\n\nUse Rippling day to day to manage employee data and pull reports. Spot data issues and fix them before they cause problems.\n\nFind recurring ticket themes and turn them into self-serve resources or process fixes.\n\nOnboarding & Employee Lifecycle\nOwn new hire onboarding from offer to first day, including paperwork, Rippling setup, and coordination with IT on devices and access.\n\nMake sure every new hire has a smooth, well-organized experience, and keep improving the experience as hiring accelerates.\n\nBenefits & Workers’ Comp\nAdminister employee benefits, including enrollments, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and renewals, and be the first point of contact for employee benefits questions.\n\nManage workers’ compensation claims from start to finish.\n\nCompliance\nManage compliance programs, including audits, harassment prevention training, and other regulatory mandates.\n\nLead compliance reporting requirements such as EEO-1 and state-specific filings, making sure submissions are on time and accurate.\n\nMaintain internal documentation (policies, calendars, audit trails) and build scalable processes that can flex with our team’s growth.\n\nSupport audits and respond to regulatory inquiries with thorough, organized documentation and clear processes.\n\nCross-Functional Partnership\nWork with Payroll, Legal, Finance, and IT to give employees a seamless experience.\n\nJump in wherever there’s an operational gap, and help bring clarity and structure as we grow.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\n3-5 years of experience in People Operations, HR Generalist, or HR Coordinator roles.\n\nHands-on experience with an HRIS. Rippling is strongly preferred.\n\nExperience administering benefits and managing workers’ comp claims.\n\nWorking knowledge of federal and multi-state compliance requirements, including reporting such as EEO-1 and required training mandates.\n\nThe ability to prioritize on your own in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift.\n\nA proactive, solutions-first mindset. You notice gaps and fix them without waiting to be asked.\n\nHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skills.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication.
