This role contributes to multi-quarter direction in ambiguous situations, works directly with customers, and takes ideas from a conversation to a tested prototype to a shipped product that customers use.\nWhat you’ll do\nOwn the roadmap for the product area and contribute to multi-quarter strategy in partnership with product leadership, tying the plan to business outcomes such as retention and expansion.\nTalk with customers regularly, including HR administrators, managers, and employees. Run discovery that informs prioritization and surfaces weak ideas before they’re built.\nBuild and test prototypes with users, partnering with Design on patterns and design-system questions.\nUse AI throughout the work, and decide where AI creates real product value and where it does not belong.\nWork with engineering on implementation approaches, trade-offs, and technical constraints, and make scope and prioritization decisions for the team.\nDeliver on team commitments, adjusting as plans shift, with delivery measured by customer adoption.\nDefine success metrics before building, instrument what ships, and track and report results after launch.\nSupport go-to-market for the area by contributing to the launch narrative and enablement for Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success, with input on pricing and packaging.\nWork closely with Sales and Customer Success, and bring learnings back into the product.\nPresent roadmap progress and results to product leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.\nCreate clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product documentation.\nDrive feature enhancements and manage feature sunsetting to optimize product value and health.\nParticipate in a highly compliant environment while assisting to maintain company controls and security within your job role.\nAssist in maintaining applicable organizational security and compliance controls within your department and role.\nOther duties as assigned.\nWhat’ll Set You Up for Success\nRequired Skills:\n3-4 years in product management, including scope and delivery for a product area in B2B SaaS.\nA track record of contributing to product direction, aligning teams, and delivering measurable business outcomes.\nExperience with complex products: rich data models, configurable workflows, integrations, or regulated and correctness-critical systems.\nStrong discovery skills and the ability to ground decisions in customer evidence.\nAbility to design, build, and test prototypes with users independently, with strong product judgment and attention to user experience.\nFluency with AI tools across discovery, prototyping, and analysis, and sound judgment about when to use AI and when not to.\nSufficient technical depth to engage with engineering on implementation approaches and trade-offs.\nData fluency, including defining metrics, instrumenting products, reading results, and changing course accordingly.\nFamiliarity with go-to-market, including launch narratives and sales enablement.\nClear, confident communication with engineers, sales and customer success teams, customers, and product leadership.\nHigh independence in ambiguous situations, with a bias toward shipping and learning.\nPreferred Skills:\nExperience shipping AI or LLM-powered features.\nDomain experience in HR tech, leave and absence, benefits, or compliance.\nExperience in a high-growth, scaling company.\nKey Skills & Behaviors:\nSynthesizes insights from customer research, data, and feedback into clear product decisions.\nGrounds prioritization in customer evidence and challenges assumptions with data.\nCommunicates clearly and builds trust with engineering, design, sales, customer success, and customers.\nCollaborates inclusively and welcomes diverse viewpoints in product decisions.\nProtects team focus by managing priorities across competing demands.\nBrings customer empathy and strong attention to product quality and user experience.\nWhy join us\nAt AbsenceSoft, we LEAD with our values:\nLead with Innovation - We create meaningful change through intelligence, focus and passion.We embrace curiosity, data, and insight to shape the future of our industry.
