This role requires deep technical expertise, sound architectural judgment, and the ability to operate with substantial autonomy across cross-functional initiatives. Working closely with product management and engineering leadership, the Software Engineer III drives technical strategy, elevates engineering standards, and shapes how teams build and scale software. This role also carries a meaningful mentorship responsibility, coaching junior and mid-level engineers and helping raise the bar across the broader team. The ideal candidate pairs strong technical craftsmanship with clear communication and a genuine passion for building resilient, scalable systems. Above all, we're looking for someone who thrives on solving hard problems and takes ownership of outcomes from design through delivery.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead the design and development of complex software components and systems.\nDrive architectural decisions and contribute to technical strategy.\nMentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers.\nConduct thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards.\nPartner with product management and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.\nTroubleshoot, optimize, and improve system performance and scalability.\nParticipate in a highly compliant environment while assisting to maintain company controls and security within your job role.\nAssist in maintaining applicable organizational security and compliance controls within your department, role, and subordinate's roles.\nOther duties as assigned.\nWhat'll Set You Up for Success\nRequired Skills:\nAdvanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.\nStrong knowledge of system architecture, design patterns, and scalability principles.\nAbility to independently lead technical initiatives and deliver end-to-end solutions.\nExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.\nPreferred:\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience.\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\nExperience with SaaS platforms, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).\nFamiliarity with DevOps practices, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.\nKey Skills & Behaviors:\nTechnical leadership and mentorship mindset.\nStrong communicator who can simplify complex concepts.\nCollaborative, adaptable, and forward-thinking. \nResults-driven with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.\nWhy join us\nAt AbsenceSoft, we LEAD with our values:\nLead with Innovation - We create meaningful change through intelligence, focus and passion.We embrace curiosity, data, and insight to shape the future of our industry.
