This hands-on leadership role oversees domestic and international accounting teams, directs the month-end closing, serves as a key audit liaison, supports external reporting, revenue recognition, and partners across the business to strengthen controls, processes, and decision-making. The successful candidate will bring significant Deltek Costpoint expertise, deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, and demonstrated experience managing accounting teams in a complex environment.This position will report to the Senior Manager of Accounting and Reporting.This position will have 1-4 direct reports.\nCore Responsibilities\nLead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, consolidations, variance analysis, and management review.\nOversee domestic and international accounting groups, establish clear priorities, review work, develop team capabilities, and promote consistent accounting practices across locations.\nOwn and optimize accounting processes within Deltek Costpoint, including the general ledger, project accounting, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, labor, and related modules.\nEnsure financial records and reporting comply with U.S. GAAP and applicable government contracting requirements, including FAR, CAS, and DCAA expectations.\nServe as the primary accounting liaison for external auditors and coordinate timely responses, schedules, supporting documentation, and remediation activities.\nPrepare, review, and support external financial reporting and related disclosures, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting deadlines.\nOversee revenue recognition for government contracts in accordance with ASC 606, including evaluation of contract terms, performance obligations, estimates, modifications, and documentation.\nMaintain effective internal controls over financial reporting; identify risks, strengthen control design, and drive timely resolution of deficiencies.\nPartner with Financial Planning and Analysis, Contracts, Program Management, Compliance, Legal, Tax, Treasury, and Information Technology to resolve accounting matters and improve end-to-end processes.\nSupport government and customer audits, incurred cost submissions, indirect-rate analysis, and other compliance activities, as applicable.\nDevelop and monitor close calendars, policies, procedures, key performance indicators, and service expectations for the accounting organization.\nLead process-improvement and automation initiatives that improve scalability, data quality, efficiency, and the control environment.\nProvide technical accounting guidance and concise analyses to senior leadership on complex transactions and emerging issues.\nWhat We Value\nBachelor’s Degree + Nine years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Seven years of relevant experience\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\nActive Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.\nAt least five years of accounting management experience, including direct responsibility for leading, developing, and reviewing the work of professional accounting staff.\nSignificant hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint in a government contracting environment including implementations, upgrades, integrations, reporting, or process redesign.\nStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial close, consolidations, external reporting, internal controls, and revenue recognition under ASC 606.\nDemonstrated experience managing or coordinating accounting operations across domestic and international teams.\nExperience serving as an audit liaison and managing deliverables for external, internal, government, or customer audits.\nWorking knowledge of government contracting concepts and compliance requirements, including FAR, CAS, and DCAA expectations.\nStrong analytical, organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nAbility to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.\nExperience with multiple government contract types, including cost-reimbursable, time-and-materials, and firm-fixed-price arrangements.\nExperience with multinational accounting, foreign-currency matters, intercompany transactions, and global consolidations.\nPublic accounting experience or prior responsibility for audited financial statements.\nExperience supporting indirect-rate development, project accounting, billing, incurred cost submissions, or forward-pricing activities.\nUS work authorization.
