Abyss is aiming to fully automate the maintenance process, expanding applications and capabilities into multiple verticals.\nHeadquartered in Sydney and with a global presence, we are dedicated to fully automating the maintenance process, helping our clients manage risk, improve sustainability, and drive smarter decision-making to enhance their operations.\nPosition Summary\nThe role will be analyzing large volumes of visual data from offshore infrastructure to identify and annotate mechanical, structural and hydraulic features in this data for the purposes of condition assessment and asset integrity management. Also undertake condition assessment of various inshore and offshore structures using visual and other data, based on established client or industry codes/frameworks. Basic quality assurance tasks are integral part of the role.\nKey responsibilities\nAnalyze large volumes of visual and other data from onshore and offshore infrastructure to identify and annotate faults and defects as well as mechanical, structural, and hydraulic features.\nImplement different client and industry condition assessment and asset integrity standards.\nCreate photogrammetric 3D models and undertake metrology analysis on these for precise measurement on parts and equipment.\nUndertake basic quality assurance tasks on your work and that of others\nPreparing engineering (inspection/condition assessment) reports.\nPerson specification\nHigh attention to detail\nContinuous improvement and agile mindset\nCollaborative spirit and affinity to work as part of teams\nStrong analytical and interpersonal skills\nEffective communication skills\nFamiliarity with interpreting various engineering schematics, drawings, P&IDs, Isometrics and process diagrams\nExperience in the use of CAD models of piping, structures or engineering components\nDemonstrated ability to quickly pick up the use of new software and emerging technologies\nTechnical report writing\nUnderstanding of Data Analytics\nProficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets and G-Suite\nMaintaining exceptional quality and work performance \nStrong computer skills with demonstrated ability to quickly pick up the use of new software\nFamiliarity with the use of Autodesk Navisworks and/or AutoCAD\nFamiliarity with the use of Autodesk Recap and working with point cloud data\nExposure to Linux operating system\nExperience in manual data annotation\nExperience in working with or as part of remote teams\nExperience in analyzing large volumes of data and drawing engineering conclusions from this\nFamiliarity with API, NACE, ASCE, and ASME inspection and coating standards\nQualification\nBachelor’s level qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, Mechatronics, Material, Industrial, Petroleum or Civil engineering.\nPreference will be given to candidates enrolled in a relevant Master’s program\n1-3 years of industry experience.
