The individual in this position also is responsible for handling a variety of complex regulatory and compliance matters and assisting the Legal Department with a variety of projects across a range of areas and will be integral to the efficient operation of the Legal Department.\nWhat you’ll do:\nDraft, review, and negotiate all contracts related to ACA’s subsidiary broker-dealers\nResearch and provide legal advice to ACA business regarding broker-dealer and mutual fund distribution, including related regulatory and compliance issues\nCommunicate and interact with ACA clients, outside counsel, service providers, and others regarding contract terms and conditions and other information\nKeep abreast of regulatory developments that impact ACA’s subsidiary broker-dealers and update contracts and related policies accordingly\nPerform ad-hoc work/special projects as necessary to support ACA on various client and internal initiatives\nTo qualify for the role, you must have:\n\nJuris doctor degree required, licensed in at least one jurisdiction\nOne to three prior years of relevant legal experience at a law firm, regulatory agency, or in-house setting; experience in a broker-dealer, mutual fund, financial services, investment firm, or regulatory agency strongly required\nExperience drafting and reviewing complex agreements with large, sophisticated counterparties, including major financial institutions and top-tier law firms preferred. \nSkills and attributes for success:\n\nSolid drafting and review skills\nStrong attention to detail\nDemonstrated professional integrity\nDependable, flexible, and adaptable to new ACA initiatives and changing employee needs\nAbility to work well in a fast-paced, small-team environment\nAbility to work independently, multi-task and prioritize effectively\nAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues\nHighly motivated and goal oriented; proactive in one’s own education and career progression; volunteers for and shows initiative on both internal and external projects and tasks\nDedicated to upholding ACA’s high-quality standards and customer service focus\nStrong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail \nStrong oral and written communication skills\nProficient with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, and the Internet\nIdeally, you’ll also have:\n\nWorking knowledge of mutual fund and exchange traded fund distribution\nWhat working at ACA offers:\n\nWe offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.
