We are looking for a motivated Test Engineer to join a global leader in energy transition in Tampere!\n\nAbout the role\n\nIn this position, you will work as a consultant through Academic Work, placed at a world-leading company specializing in grid solutions and renewable energy. You will join the New Product Introduction (NPI) team, focusing on the development and testing of advanced STATCOM products (Flexible AC Transmission Systems).\n\nWe are looking for someone who either already has experience in power electronics testing or possesses the technical foundation and strong motivation to grow into a specialist role. You will be supported by a team of experts while taking ownership of crucial testing phases.\n\nWork tasks\n\nAs a Test Engineer, your role is to ensure the quality and functionality of complex systems. Your responsibilities include:\n\nTesting & Validation: Performing software and FPGA validation testing and working within a medium voltage lab environment.\n\nSimulation: Utilizing Real-Time Digital Simulator (RTDS) facilities to verify system performance.\n\nPlanning: Contributing to the development of test plans and specifications for power electronics products.\n\nCollaboration: Coordinating activities across different teams and reporting progress to stakeholders.\n\nDocumentation: Creating and updating detailed test procedures and technical reports.\n\nWe are looking for\n\nA Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\n\nA solid understanding of power electronics fundamentals.\n\nExperience with-or a high interest in learning-RTDS testing.\n\nFamiliarity with software validation and basic knowledge of FPGA/Ethernet technologies.\n\nA proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.\n\nFluency in English (written and spoken).\n\nAny of the following is considered a plus:\n\nBasic experience with test automation (e.g., Python, Robot Framework, or MATLAB).\n\nPrevious experience in an R&D or laboratory environment.\n\nKnowledge of JIRA or similar project management tools.\n\nOur recruitment process\n\nThis recruitment process is handled by Academic Work and it is our client's wish that all questions regarding the position is directed to Academic Work.\n\nOur selection process is continuous and the advert may close before the recruitment process is completed if we have moved forward to the next phase.
