We work tirelessly to raise student achievement, regardless of historical barriers, while committed to participating in ongoing professional development, job embedded instructional coaching and embracing a growth mindset.\nAbout the Opportunity:\nKeep the school grounds safe, secure, and clean at all times\nPerform all routine cleaning, housekeeping, and basic maintenance for the school as prescribed by the custodial duty listing, including, but not limited to:\nRemoving trash\nCleaning and wiping down of blackboards, hand railings, doors, and other surfaces as needed\nChanging light bulbs\nVacuuming and mopping floors\nCleaning windows and disinfecting student and staff restrooms\nAssisting with cleaning the food service area\nPainting\nSet up and takes down lunch tables in the multi-purpose room as required\nPerform basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs as needed\nMaintain the external appearance of the building, including the parking lot, playground, sidewalks, steps, and lawns\nPerform snow removal activities as needed, including shoveling, snow-blowing, and salting walkways and steps\nBuff and waxes all floors as needed\nPrepare the school for special events, such as meetings, open houses, etc.\nEnsure school ground electronic security systems/emergency systems are working properly\nInform School Leader of any damage or wear and tear to school property so that a replacement/refurbishment plan can be initiated\nWillingness to accept training and apply learned skills\nProperly maintain all school tools, supplies, and machinery that are used in day to day operations\nReport to the school on extraordinary event days such as snow days, staff holidays, or other events such as no electric, no water, etc. to inspect the building and ensure the safety and soundness of the building and grounds\nContribute to a positive climate and culture by exhibiting high professional standards\nUnderstand, accept, abide by, and implement the school’s philosophy and mission statement in all school activities\nOther duties as assigned\nAbout You:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent\nSuccessful completion of federal and state criminal background checks\nAbility to perform physical work in all weather conditions\nAbility to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.\nAbility to use outdoor and indoor cleaning equipment\nAbility to report to work outside of school opening hours\nDemonstrated punctuality and reliability in reporting to work as scheduled\nKnowledge of cleaning up and disposal of hazardous and bio-hazardous materials\nBasic knowledge of and ability to perform simple electrical and plumbing repairs\nExperience in an urban setting is a plus\nAbout Us\n “We believe that every child should be able to be anything they want in life, regardless of their birthplace and circumstances.” - Ron Packard, CEO & Founder\nACCEL Schools is a network of 80+ high-performing, public charter schools serving PK-12 students.
