UCP is part of ACCEL Schools, an established network of public charter schools serving K-12 students throughout the United States since 2014.\nAbout the Opportunity:\nThe Intervention Specialist supports the educational and behavioral goals of all students with a focus on students with an Individualized Education Program.\nResponsibilities of the Intervention Specialist include to-\nWork cooperatively with classroom teachers, interpreting the abilities and disabilities of these students, assisting in classroom intervention strategies, modifying general education curricular as necessary, and assisting the student with regular class assignments.\nConduct diagnostic assessments for instruction\nConduct functional behavior assessments\nWrite and implement behavior improvement plans\nFacilitate IEP Meetings and write IEP goals and objectives\nRelentlessly work to meet all goals related to student achievement and culture as well as state specific achievement goals.\nUtilize research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction.\nIntegrate culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.\nServe as advisor for a designated set of students\nCommunicate regularly with families regarding the academic and social-emotional growth of their child.\nParticipate in the planning and implementation of non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips\nPerform other duties as assigned\nAbout You:\nCurrent state license\nKnowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards\nExperience working in a full room inclusion type model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model \nHigh level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.\nHigh quality written and verbal communication skills\nHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook\nExcellent organization and time management skills\nAbility to work independently and contribute to a team\nAbility to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI)\nExperience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred\nAbout Us\n“We believe that every child should be able to be anything they want in life, regardless of their birthplace and circumstances.” - Ron Packard, CEO & Founder\nACCEL Schools is a network of 80+ high-performing, public charter schools serving PK-12 students.
