The Instructional Paraprofessional may work with individual students or a group of students with special needs, assisting the teacher with instructional responsibilities to ensure compliance with pertinent State of Arizona and Federal educational requirements. \n This is part-time in office position (25-30 hours/week) working out of our Nogales, Arizona location.\nAbout the Opportunity: \nAssist student(s) in working with technology and computer based learning programs as directed. \nWork with student(s) and teacher(s) on academic requirements and grade appropriate work. \nWork with small groups of students, assist with small group instruction. \nParticipates in identified training as necessary to meet the needs of the student assignment. \nFollows all safety plans, rules, guidelines of the school.\nWorks with student one-to-one with regard to academics, social skills, character education.\nAssists the teacher in lesson assessments.\nAssists students with projects, assignments.\nActs as a good role model for all students.\nMaintains a welcoming attitude to create a positive educational environment.\nCompletes all necessary training, Safe Schools training or other assigned training.\nWorks collaboratively and cooperatively with administrators, staff, parents.\nCompletes necessary paperwork.\nSupport classroom teachers with instructional activities, small-group work, and one-on-one student support.\nAssist students in completing assignments, reinforcing lessons, and accessing accommodations/modifications outlined in IEPs, 504 plans, or instructional support plans.\nSupervise students during transitions, lunch, breaks, and non-classroom activities as assigned.\nSupport the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and other school-wide behavior systems.\nAssist in maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.\nProvide academic and/or behavioral data collection and documentation as requested by the teacher or administrator.\nSupport students with special needs, including physical, emotional, or behavioral challenges.\nCollaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet the needs of individual students.\nMaintain confidentiality regarding student records and sensitive information.\nPerform other duties as assigned to support the educational mission of the school.\n About You: \nArizona IVP fingerprint clearance card required.\nMaturity and patience required. Able to support students academically and emotionally in order to foster the learning process.\nAble to identify and refer situations to the Principal as needed.\nAble to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and monitor own work to ensure quality.\nAble to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing student demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.\nAble to be consistently at work and on time, follow instructions, respond to leadership direction and solicit and accept feedback to improve performance.\nAble to lift up to 50 pounds, able to bend, stoop, reach, sit in order to respond to the needs of the assigned student(s).\nAble to move as quickly as needed to respond to the needs of the assigned student(s).\nAble to restrain a student if/when necessary for the safety of the student. \n Work Environment: \nWhile performing these duties of this job, the employee is in a classroom setting or school environment. \n Physical Demands: \nThis position may be physically demanding at times. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; able to reach, bend, sit and stoop. The employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear.
