Working closely with technical leadership and wider business stakeholders, you will play an important role in enabling AccelerComm's continued growth and supporting the development of next-generation communications technology.”\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPeople Leadership & Team Management\nLead, develop and mentor a team of Infrastructure and DevOps Engineers.\nDefine team objectives, priorities and performance measures aligned with organisational goals.\nManage team workload, capacity planning and resource allocation across operational support and project activities.\nEstablish a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and technical excellence.\nSupport recruitment, onboarding and career development of team members.\nBuild strong relationships with Engineering Managers, Technical Leads and business stakeholders.\nDevelopment Infrastructure Ownership\n Own the availability, performance, security and scalability of engineering infrastructure platforms.\nDefine and maintain the infrastructure strategy and roadmap to support business growth and evolving engineering requirements.\n Oversee the design, deployment and lifecycle management of compute clusters, Physical servers and storage systems, Networking infrastructure, Firewalls and security appliances, Virtualisation platforms, Backup and disaster recovery systems, High-performance computing resources\nEnsure infrastructure capacity planning is aligned with future engineering demands.\nManage hardware refresh programmes and infrastructure investment planning.\nDevOps & Engineering Platform Management\nOwn the operation and evolution of engineering productivity platforms and development services.\nDrive adoption of DevOps principles, automation and Infrastructure as Code practices.\nOversee the administration and support of development systems\nDevelop self-service infrastructure and tooling to improve engineering efficiency.\nPromote standardised development workflows and operational best practices.\n Operational Excellence\nEstablish and maintain operational processes for monitoring, incident management, problem management and change control.\nDefine service level objectives and operational performance metrics.\nEnsure infrastructure and development systems are monitored effectively and issues are proactively addressed.\nEnsure business continuity, backup and disaster recovery capabilities are regularly reviewed and tested.\nEnsure engineering platforms and infrastructure are operated in accordance with company security policies.\nCommunicate infrastructure strategy, risks, dependencies and project progress to stakeholders.\nManage relationships with infrastructure vendors, software suppliers and support partners.\nSupport budgeting, forecasting and procurement activities.\nEvaluate new technologies and provide recommendations for adoption.\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\n Essential\nExperience working within Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, SRE, or DevOps teams.\nUnderstanding of Linux system administration (Rocky / RedHat), Networking, and Virtualisation.\nComfortable working with predominantly on-premises systems.\nExperience working with teams in Agile environments.\nKnowledge of Dashboard and Metrics monitoring.\nKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.\n Strong communication and problem-solving skills.\n\nDesirable\nDirect experience of administration of the following tools:\nJenkins\nJIRA\nArtifactory\nSlurm Workload Manager\nRancher / Kubernetes\nExperience of people management or team leadership;
