to strengthen our Supply Chain and Procurement organization.\nThe role will be responsible for technical sourcing, supplier scouting, supplier qualification, new component development and smooth transition to serial production, with a strong focus on precision-machined components, alloy-steel/bar-stock materials, heat-treatment processes, and cast-and-machined components.\nThe successful candidate will work closely with suppliers as well as Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Operations and Global Category teams to develop a competitive, reliable and technically capable supplier base.\nThis position is ideal for a hands-on mechanical engineering professional who combines strong manufacturing knowledge with strategic sourcing and supplier management capabilities.\nKey Responsibilities :\nStrategic Sourcing & Supplier Development\nIdentify, scout and develop new suppliers for mechanical components and relevant manufacturing technologies.\nPerform technical evaluation and capability assessment of potential suppliers.\nSupport supplier qualification and onboarding from initial evaluation through production readiness.\nParticipate in RFQ activities, including review of technical feasibility, manufacturing capability and supplier proposals.\nDevelop alternative and competitive sources to improve supply security, cost competitiveness and supplier capability.\nMaintain strong market intelligence on suppliers, manufacturing technologies and sourcing opportunities.\nNew Product & Sample Development\nManage new component and sample development from RFQ through qualification and serial-production readiness.\nReview engineering drawings, specifications, material requirements and manufacturing processes with suppliers.\nDefine and monitor development plans covering raw-material readiness, machining, heat treatment, inspection, testing and sample submission.\nCoordinate development trials and resolve technical issues during component development.\nEnsure timely closure of technical deviations and corrective actions.\nDrive development projects to achieve agreed quality, cost and delivery objectives.\nTechnical Support\nProvide technical expertise for CNC turning, CNC milling and precision machining of bar-stock components.\nAssess manufacturing feasibility considering tolerances, machining processes, tooling, fixtures, inspection requirements and production capability.\nSupport resolution of supplier-related manufacturing, dimensional and quality issues.\nWork closely with suppliers on root-cause analysis and implementation of sustainable corrective actions.\nSupport continuous improvement and manufacturing-process optimization at suppliers.\nApply sound engineering knowledge of alloy-steel grades and other engineering materials.\nUnderstand material specifications, chemical and mechanical properties, hardness requirements, material certificates and traceability.\nEvaluate technical requirements related to heat-treatment processes and their impact on material properties and subsequent machining.\nSupport technical assessment of material and process-related deviations.\nSupport development and supplier management of iron castings and finished machined components.\nUnderstand the complete manufacturing route from raw material/casting through machining, inspection and final component qualification.\nWork with suppliers to resolve casting, machining and dimensional issues.\nSupplier Performance & Relationship Management\nDevelop and maintain strong, professional relationships with key suppliers.\nMonitor and support improvement of supplier performance related to quality, delivery, capacity and technical capability.\nConduct structured supplier reviews and ensure timely follow-up of agreed actions.\nIdentify potential supplier risks and implement appropriate improvement or mitigation actions.\nManage supplier escalations effectively and drive sustainable resolution.\nCross-Functional & Global Collaboration\nWork closely with Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Planning/Logistics and Category Management.\nAct as a key technical interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders.\nCollaborate with Global Category teams on sourcing strategies and supplier-development opportunities.\nProvide inputs on supplier capabilities, market developments, available manufacturing technologies and sourcing opportunities in India.\nSupport global sourcing initiatives where Indian suppliers offer technical and commercial advantages.\nParticipate in global category strategy and supplier-development activities.\nBackground\nB.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering qualification.\nApproximately 06-10 years of relevant industry experience preferred.\nExperience in turbocharger, automotive, industrial machinery, rotating equipment, energy, heavy engineering or similar precision-engineering industries would be advantageous.\nKnowledge of casting, forging, APQP/PPAP, 8D and other structured quality/problem-solving methodologies would be an advantage.\nKey Competencies\nWe are looking for
