You will design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services, microservices, APIs, and integrations connecting Accelya’s platform with airline systems and external providers.\nThe position will focus primarily on our modern Node.js and TypeScript microservices architecture, supporting critical airline workflows such as shopping, pricing, booking, order management, ticketing, servicing, payment, and settlement. You will also contribute to migrating functionality from legacy OpenConnect components to the modern platform, helping deliver reliable, scalable, and reusable integration capabilities in line with Accelya’s global business strategy, values, and mission.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain backend services, microservices, APIs, and airline integrations using Node.js and TypeScript.\nBuild and maintain REST APIs and integration components supporting airline shopping, pricing, booking, servicing, payment, and settlement workflows.\nDevelop adapters connecting the OpenConnect platform with airline systems and external providers, using JSON, XML, and other relevant messaging formats.\nContribute to the modernization of legacy OpenConnect components by migrating functionality to a scalable, cloud-native microservices architecture.\nDesign reusable integration patterns that isolate airline-specific functionality while strengthening core platform capabilities.\nDevelop and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, and Docker.\nImplement reliable error handling, retries, logging, tracing, and monitoring to improve the resilience and observability of distributed services.\nDevelop and maintain automated unit and integration tests throughout the software development lifecycle.\nParticipate in code reviews, architecture discussions, technical troubleshooting, and production support.\nCollaborate with Product, QA, Architecture, DevOps, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality airline connectivity solutions.\nMaintain clear technical documentation covering APIs, integrations, services, and architectural decisions.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance platform reliability, maintainability, and the efficiency of future airline integrations.\nRequired Experience & Skills\nProven software development experience using TypeScript and Node.js.\nExperience designing, developing, and maintaining backend services, REST APIs, and microservices.\nStrong understanding of asynchronous programming, distributed systems, and API design principles.\nExperience working with JSON and XML payloads and complex integrations involving multiple internal and external systems.\nExperience developing and deploying cloud-based applications on AWS.\nHands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes or similar container orchestration technologies.\nUnderstanding of API authentication, error handling, resiliency, logging, monitoring, and observability.\nExperience implementing automated unit and integration tests.\nFamiliarity with Git-based development workflows and CI/CD pipelines.\nStrong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to shared engineering objectives.\n Fluent English: Interviews will be held in this language. \nPreferred Experience & Skills\nExperience in airline distribution, reservation systems, or travel technology.\nKnowledge of IATA NDC APIs and airline Offer and Order Management concepts.\nExperience with EDIFACT messaging and/or TTY airline messaging.\nExperience integrating with airline Passenger Service Systems (PSS).\nFamiliarity with airline shopping, availability, pricing, booking, ticketing, servicing, payment, and settlement workflows.\nExperience with AWS EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, and other AWS services.\nExperience with observability platforms such as OpenTelemetry, Sumo Logic, or OpenSearch.\nExperience modernizing legacy applications and migrating functionality to cloud-native microservices.\nFamiliarity with C/C++ is beneficial when working with or migrating legacy OpenConnect components.\nExposure to CI/CD and engineering tools such as Jenkins, GitLab pipelines, and JFrog.\nWhat do we offer?\nOpen culture and challenging opportunities to satisfy intellectual needs.\nFlexible working hours.\nSmart working: hybrid remote/office working environment.\nWork-life balance.\nExcellent, dynamic, and multicultural environment.\nAbout Accelya\nAccelya is a leading global software provider to the airline industry, powering 200+ airlines with an open, modular software platform that enables innovative airlines to drive growth, delight their customers, and take control of their retailing.\nOwned by Vista Equity Partners’ long-term perennial fund and with 2K+ employees based around 10 global offices, Accelya is trusted by industry leaders to deliver now and deliver for the future.\nThe company’s passenger, cargo, and industry platforms support airline retailing from offer to settlement, both above and below the wing.
