As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by investigating and resolving issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a proactive approach to monitoring system performance, diagnosing problems, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical applications. The position demands continuous engagement with system components to maintain stability and support business continuity, often requiring collaboration with different teams to address complex challenges effectively.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
- Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
- Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of system issues and minimize downtime.
- Document troubleshooting steps and solutions to build a knowledge base for future reference.
- Monitor system alerts and logs to proactively identify potential problems before they impact business operations.
- Assist junior team members by sharing knowledge and providing guidance on best practices.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Splunk Administration.
- Experience in managing and configuring Splunk environments to optimize data ingestion and indexing.
- Ability to analyze and interpret log data to identify root causes of system issues.
- Familiarity with creating and maintaining dashboards, alerts, and reports within Splunk.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the capability to troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure problems.
- Knowledge of system monitoring and performance tuning to enhance application reliability.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Splunk Administration.
- This position is based at our BBDC1A - NON-STPI office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
