This role leads cloud infrastructure design and delivery for mission workloads across multi-classification environments.\nAs a senior individual contributor, you’ll set engineering direction for infrastructure-as-code, mentor mid-level and junior engineers, and own complex infrastructure challenges.\nSuccess in This Role Means:\nDelivering new infrastructure as reusable, version controlled Terraform or CloudFormation modules within 90 days\nBeing the trusted technical authority for architecture and design questions\nIntegrating STIG compliance and security hardening into deployment pipelines by default\nDriving root-cause investigation for Tier 3 incident response\nEnsuring cross-domain data flow and classification boundaries are correctly reflected in infrastructure design\nWhat you’ll do:\nDesign, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure for mission-critical government workloads across IL2-IL6 environments\nAuthor and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) for consistent, auditable deployments\nArchitect compute, storage, and networking solutions meeting mission performance and classification constraints\nLead technical design from requirements gathering through implementation and handoff\nImplement and maintain security controls, STIG compliance, and vulnerability remediation\nPartner with Security Engineers and ISSOs on RMF documentation and ATO support\nManage identity, access, networking, and security controls per least-privilege principles\nMentor mid-level and junior engineers on design, troubleshooting, and secure practices\nReview infrastructure-as-code changes, provide technical feedback\nDrive resolution of complex Tier 3 incidents and document root-cause findings\nOperate within Agile frameworks (sprints, standups, retrospectives)\nIdentify and resolve infrastructure gaps and automation opportunities proactively\nDocument infrastructure decisions, runbooks, and operational procedures\nWhat you’ll need:\n5 years of cloud engineering/infrastructure experience\n2 years in classified or highly regulated government environments\nCloud platform experience (e.g: AWS, Azure, or multi-cloud); AWS GovCloud strongly preferred\nHands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g.: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)\nExperience with containerization/orchestration (e.g.: Docker, Kubernetes)\nProficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation\nBonus Points if you have:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (certifications may substitute)\nExperience owning infrastructure design decisions\nExperience with identity/access management, networking, and cloud security controls\nExperience mentoring or leading junior engineers\nCI/CD pipeline design and DevSecOps practices\nFamiliarity with multi-classification or cross-domain infrastructure\nAWS/Azure certifications (Solutions Architect or above), CompTIA Security+, Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD)\nClearance:\nNeed an active Secret clearance; Top Secret preferred\nWork Environment & Culture Fit \nComfortable in fast-paced, dynamic environments with evolving priorities\nStrong Agile framework familiarity\nSolution ownership mindset-proactively surfaces gaps and takes responsibility for outcomes\nFail-fast, fail-forward mentality-learns from mistakes and iterates quickly\nGrowth-oriented-invested in developing junior and mid-level engineers\nWho Thrives in This Role \nExtreme ownership mindset-accountable for outcomes beyond immediate tickets\nComfortable with ambiguity-translates loosely defined requirements into concrete designs\nStrong collaborator-works effectively with Security Engineers, ISSOs, and mentees\nSelf-directed-identifies and resolves gaps without being told\nAs required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia.
