We serve approximately 9,000 clients and generated approximately $74 billion in FY26 revenue. Visit us at accenture.com.\nWe Are:\nAccenture is recognized as a global leader in AI and cloud transformation, helping businesses across industries reimagine the digital core for an AI-native operating model. Through partnerships with frontier AI labs such as Anthropic and OpenAI, and the leading cloud providers, Accenture delivers end-to-end services that drive innovation and business agility.\nThe Digital Core Reinvention practice does work few others attempt: methodically excavating what is actually inside an enterprise's code and process before anyone dares to transform it. Code Archaeology is that discipline - AI agents digging through millions of lines of legacy so the transformation stands on evidence, not folklore.\nYou Are:\nA senior practitioner who would rather spend a week inside a million lines of COBOL than a day inside a tidy summary and who is ready to own the discipline itself: the methodology, the tooling, the quality bar, and the named technical point of view we put in front of clients and the market.\nThis is the senior technical track at Accenture: we hire people here who would rather own a methodology than carry a number.\nThe Work:\nAs an Associate Director in this family, you are the technical owner of Code Archaeology. Concretely, that means three things at once:\nMethodology Ownership\nOwn the evidence-first discovery methodology, including the five discovery domains, correlation across them, and the discovery-to-architecture handoff.\nDefine what is in scope and out of scope for archaeology engagements.\nDefend the methodology against scope drift from both technical and business perspectives.\nAsset Portfolio Ownership\nOwn the archaeology tooling, knowledge graph pipelines, and language-coverage roadmap, including mainframe-era languages.\nEnsure every major engagement either consumes or contributes to the asset portfolio.\nDecide which assets should be standardized and productized.\nTechnical Point of View Leadership\nServe as the public technical voice of the discipline.\nLead conference presentations, client architecture councils, and technical thought leadership initiatives.\nShape and communicate the market perspective on why excavation must precede transformation.\nTravel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0% to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.\nHere's What You Need\nMinimum of 12 years in enterprise software engineering, including significant brownfield modernization at multi-million-LOC scale.\nMinimum of 3 years leading large-scale architectural discovery or modernization engagements, with at least one you can speak to in detail as the named technical owner.\n5+ years working fluency with knowledge graphs and ontology modeling ( skill matrix for this family: Ontology, Knowledge Graph, Data Taxonomy), plus static analysis, dependency analysis, and Git history mining.\n2+ years of hands-on work with LLM-assisted code analysis.\nMinimum 3 years of experience leading the development, commercialization, or ongoing evolution of a productized offering, platform, or reusable methodology, with direct accountability for its roadmap, adoption, or business outcomes\nBachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate's Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience).\nProfessional Skills:\nDemonstrated ability to walk into a client executive's office and earn the room on technical depth alone.\nA clear, defensible point of view on the current AI frontier - what's real, what's hype, what matters in 18 months - that you can articulate publicly.\nBonus Points if You Have:\nPublished or spoken on AI-augmented code analysis, code archaeology, or software architecture recovery.\nExperience with retrieval-augmented generation over code corpora and agent context engineering.\nMainframe-era language fluency (COBOL, PL/I) alongside modern stacks - the estates that need this most are the oldest ones.\nComfort being outranked on pipeline conversations and outvoting on technical ones.\nA track record of editing methodology the way engineers edit code.\nFrontier-partner relationships (Anthropic, OpenAI, hyperscaler AI organizations, or equivalent).\nCompensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired as set forth below.\nWe anticipate this job posting will be posted until 12/04/2026.\nAccenture offers a market competitive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan, bonus opportunities, paid holidays, and paid time off.
